Savory Penne with Shrimp and Asparagus

Cooking Instructions
Prepare all the ingredients before you begin.

Fill a large pot with lightly salted water and bring it to a boil. Add the penne and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, or until al dente; then drain the pasta.

In the meantime, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic and onion, cooking until the onion softens and becomes translucent, which should take about 5 minutes. Then pour in the white wine and let it simmer for 2 minutes.

Add red pepper flakes, butter, and asparagus to the skillet, and cook until the asparagus is just tender, around 3 minutes.
