Ingredients List
-
1 ½ pounds skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
-
½ cup honey
-
¼ cup soy sauce
-
2 tablespoons ketchup
-
2 tablespoons dried minced onion
-
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
-
½ teaspoon garlic powder
-
3 tablespoons water
-
2 teaspoons cornstarch
-
1 teaspoon sesame seeds, or to taste
Instructions
Arrange the chicken in a slow cooker. In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, ketchup, onion, oil, and garlic powder. Pour the mixture over the chicken, ensuring it is well coated.
Cook on Low for 3 to 4 hours or on High for 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours until the chicken is tender.
Transfer the chicken from the sauce onto a cutting board and set aside.
In a small bowl, mix water and cornstarch until smooth, then stir the mixture into the sauce in the slow cooker.
Cook on High for about 10 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened slightly.
Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces and return it to the sauce. Garnish with sesame seeds before serving.

Be sure to account for variations in ingredient quantities when following the recipe from the magazine, and remember that cooking rice is an additional step. Additionally, cornstarch is added at the start of the process, rather than after the chicken is cooked.
