Sweet and Spicy Ginger Chicken Wings

3 pounds chicken wings

2 eggs, beaten

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup margarine

½ cup apple cider vinegar

3 tablespoons soy sauce

3 tablespoons water

1 cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon monosodium glutamate (MSG) (Optional)

½ teaspoon salt

3 serrano chile peppers, minced (Optional)

2 tablespoons grated fresh ginger

2 tablespoons sesame seeds, toasted
Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Pat the chicken wings dry with a paper towel.

In one bowl, beat the eggs. In another, place the flour. Dip each wing in the egg, then coat lightly with flour, shaking off the excess.

Heat margarine in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Pan-fry the wings, turning occasionally, until golden brown on all sides, about 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, in a saucepan, bring cider vinegar, soy sauce, water, brown sugar, MSG, salt, serrano chilies, and ginger to a gentle boil over medium heat, allowing it to thicken for 5-7 minutes.

Toss the browned wings in the sauce until evenly coated, then transfer to a large baking dish with a slotted spoon. Reserve the remaining sauce.

Bake the wings in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, turning them halfway through and basting with the reserved sauce after 15 minutes.

Sprinkle sesame seeds over the wings just before serving.
