Tomato-Braised Pork Chops

Ingredients List
-
4 pork chops
-
1 pinch garlic salt
-
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
-
1 onion, chopped
-
2 stalks chopped celery, with leaves
-
12 ounces tomato paste
-
1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
-
3 cups water
Instructions
-
Season pork chops with garlic salt according to your taste. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat, then brown the chops for 4 to 6 minutes on each side. Once done, remove them from the skillet and set aside.
-
In the same skillet, sauté onions and celery until they become translucent. Add tomato paste and cook, stirring, until the mixture bubbles. Stir in the tomato sauce and heat until it begins to bubble. Add water to adjust the sauce consistency. Return the chops to the skillet, lower the heat, and let them simmer for 1 1/2 to 2 hours until the meat is tender and the sauce thickens, adding water as necessary.
