Ingredients List
-
cooking spray
-
1 pound ground turkey
-
1 egg
-
¼ cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs
-
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
-
½ clove garlic, minced
-
½ teaspoon ground black pepper, or to taste
-
¼ teaspoon salt, or to taste
-
2 cups tomato sauce, divided
Instructions
-
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly coat a baking dish with cooking spray.
-
In a large mixing bowl, combine the turkey, egg, breadcrumbs, Italian seasoning, garlic, black pepper, and salt. Shape the mixture into a loaf and transfer it to the prepared dish.
-
Bake for 40 minutes. Then, spoon half of the tomato sauce over the meatloaf and continue baking for another 10 to 15 minutes until the center is no longer pink and the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C). Let the meatloaf rest for 5 to 10 minutes before slicing.
-
While the meatloaf is resting, warm the remaining tomato sauce in a small saucepan over low heat. Serve the sauce alongside the sliced meatloaf.
