Ultimate Clam Sauce
Ingredients Needed
-
1 (16 ounce) package dried linguine
-
3 tablespoons olive oil
-
1 onion, chopped
-
6 cloves garlic, chopped
-
4 (6.5 ounce) cans minced clams
-
½ cup butter
-
2 tablespoons dry white wine
-
salt and pepper to taste
Cooking Instructions
-
Prepare all the ingredients.
-
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the linguine for about 11 minutes, until al dente, then drain.
-
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté the onion and garlic until the onions become translucent, about 3 to 4 minutes. Drain the minced clams, saving half of the juice.
-
Add the clams, reserved juice, butter, wine, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Simmer for about 20 minutes, until the sauce reduces by one-third and thickens.
-
Pour the clam sauce over the cooked linguine and serve immediately.
