11 Essentials to Pack for Your Cruise
Whenever we embark on a Dinogo cruise, we inevitably forget at least one item we wish we had packed. Here’s our list of 11 essentials to consider bringing along for your cruise getaway.
While your cruise won’t be spoiled without these items, having them will definitely make your experience a bit smoother.
1. Stain Removal Pen
Inevitably, during our cruise vacation, we'll end up spilling or dropping something on our new clothes. A stain removal pen is ideal for such moments, allowing you to quickly treat the area and hopefully avert any lasting marks. If you’re still concerned about stains, the cruise ship will offer laundry services, so you can have your garments cleaned and pressed during your trip.
2. Sticky Note Pads
We find these note pads handy for leaving messages for our cabin steward. You can stick them on the mirror to inform your steward if you need anything in your room. They also serve well for keeping in contact with family members while cruising.
4. Power Strip
We always bring along phones, laptops, camera batteries, and a host of other electronics when we go cruising. That's why we like to pack a brand-new power strip to keep everything charged (it should be new and in its packaging, as the cruise line may confiscate any they deem unsafe). We avoid using every outlet to prevent overloading the socket, but it allows us to charge several devices simultaneously.
5. Reusable water bottle or coffee mug
Depending on your cruise destination, the weather can be extremely hot or quite chilly. A refillable coffee mug lets you savor your favorite hot drink, while a reusable water bottle will help you stay refreshed and hydrated throughout your journey.
6. Highlighters
Keep a couple of highlighters on hand so you can mark the activities in the Fun Times that you’re interested in joining.
7. Reusable Mesh Bag
Since some stores don’t provide shopping bags for your purchases, having a mesh bag allows you to carry your items without the hassle of juggling them. Mesh bags are also great for storing wet towels and beach gear.
8. Magnetic Clips
A magnet lets you attach notes to your door for family and friends. You can also display the Fun Times schedule for easy reference.
10. Ziplock Bags
Bringing ziplock bags in various sizes is a must-have for your suitcase. They are perfect for storing purchases, wet clothes, and so much more. I prefer the gallon-sized bags to keep my Fun Times safe and dry in my luggage. I enjoy bringing them home as souvenirs to reminisce about the cruise.
11. Compact Purse
Don’t forget to pack a compact purse to hold your cruise card and camera while exploring the ship. I always like to have my camera on hand, so using a small purse means I don’t have to hold it constantly.
