11 Top All-Inclusive Resorts for Culinary Lovers
All-inclusive resorts have undergone a remarkable transformation. Not long ago, they were often associated with long buffet lines, tacky theme nights, and diluted drinks. How far we’ve come!
The dining experiences at all-inclusive resorts have been completely revamped, replacing mediocre menus with exquisite culinary adventures. This year, numerous all-inclusive resorts in Mexico feature Michelin-starred dining, with Cocina de Autor at Grand Velas in Los Cabos and Riviera Maya standing out. Many resorts worldwide offer menus crafted by Michelin-starred chefs, while others impress with stunning settings and innovative dining experiences.
Today’s all-inclusive resorts entice guests with multi-course tasting menus, wine pairings, and unique culinary options, including curated picnics and Dine Around programs, allowing guests to explore local restaurants at no extra charge. Food enthusiasts who once hesitated to choose all-inclusive options may now find themselves craving these globally acclaimed gourmet experiences.
To help with your search, we’ve compiled a list of 11 premier all-inclusive resorts for food lovers around the globe.

While Grand Velas Boutique Los Cabos caters to adults only, the majority of dining options are available at the family-friendly Grand Velas Los Cabos.
Determining the "best" all-inclusive resort can be subjective. However, for food enthusiasts in Los Cabos, Grand Velas Los Cabos and its sister property, Grand Velas Boutique Los Cabos, are at the top of my list. Unlike many all-inclusive venues, this extraordinary dining experience is included in the room rate. The culinary delights continue at Velas 10, known for its exceptional steaks and gourmet sides, while Loto Robata Grill, reserved for guests of Grand Velas Boutique, showcases Schutte’s innovative approach.

The resort features one of the largest room counts in the area, with 900 rooms.
Honestly, I usually avoid resorts with hundreds of rooms, but I make an exception for Hotel Xcaret Mexico (and its adults-only sister resort, Hotel Xcaret Arte). Despite both resorts having 900 rooms, the property is so unique and offers so much to explore that I never feel overwhelmed. A recipient of the World's Best Awards in both 2021 and 2023, Hotel Xcaret Mexico gained even more recognition in 2024 with a Michelin star for its HA' Restaurant. As the first restaurant in Grupo Xcaret to earn this honor, HA' offers a nine-course tasting menu complemented by fine wines and spirits. The other dining options are equally impressive, with Cantina Los Faroles capturing the essence of Oaxaca's plazas and serving Oaxacan cuisine. Guests can also indulge in Italian, Mexican, steakhouse, and vegan options. For food lovers seeking a great hotel in Playa del Carmen, this is truly a paradise.

Know Before You Go
- Vibe Check: While all-inclusive resorts share the commonality of inclusivity, each offers a unique atmosphere. Be sure to clarify the type of resort you're considering, as some cater to families, others appeal to seniors, and others are designed for lively groups seeking activities and nightlife.
- Know What’s Included: All-inclusive typically covers meals, drinks, and certain activities, but it doesn’t encompass everything. Services like spa treatments, airport transfers, and select premium items may incur additional costs. Always verify what’s covered so you’re fully informed about your expenses.
- Get Off Property: Being at an all-inclusive resort doesn’t mean you have to stay there the whole time. If you feel adventurous, explore the surrounding area and experience the local culture.
