A Few Lucky Pixar Fans Can Experience an Airbnb Inspired by 'The Incredibles'

Just three weeks ago, Airbnb launched a new category called 'Icons', offering exclusive, once-in-a-lifetime accommodations and experiences available by request only. Now, their latest offering gives guests the chance to live out their superhero (or supervillain) fantasies for a day.

This June, a select group of Pixar fans will have the opportunity to spend the day in a recreation of Edna Mode's mansion, the fabulous superhero costume designer from The Incredibles, celebrating the film’s 20th anniversary.

Located in Los Angeles near the Sunset Strip, this stylish midcentury home features Edna Mode's signature glasses and her top-secret sketchbook. While overnight stays are not allowed, the three-hour experience includes a personal consultation with ‘Edna’s team of expert designers’ to create a customized supersuit with detailed fabric swatches—all approved by Edna herself. Once completed, the custom supersuit will be mailed to the guests a few weeks later.

The listing is now live on Airbnb's website, written in Edna’s signature voice—she describes herself as 'Bold! Dramatic! Me!' The booking window will open on Friday, May 24, at 6 a.m. PT and close on Tuesday, May 28, at 11:59 p.m. PT on Airbnb’s website. To enter, participants need an active account, must submit their name and contact info, and answer why they want to visit. Only 15 groups of four will get to experience Edna’s mansion, with visits taking place between June 6 and 29, 2024.

Previous Airbnb experiences, such as a stay at the English pub from Ted Lasso or a night in Barbie’s Malibu DreamHouse, were available on a first-come, first-served basis. For this experience, however, organizers will randomly select entries and narrow the winners based on their 'unique perspective and connection to the icon,' according to the booking page. Once selected, winners must confirm attendance within 24 hours. Guests are responsible for their travel to California, but the experience itself is free of charge.

This isn’t the only chance for Pixar fans to immerse themselves in their favorite films. Airbnb will open a second booking request period for 10 one-night stays at the Up house, suspended by over 8,000 balloons and a crane in Abiquiu, New Mexico, from Monday, May 27, at 6 a.m. PT through Monday, June 3, at 11:59 p.m. PT. These stays will be available from July 10–25, 2024. As with Edna's mansion, guests are responsible for their own travel but the Airbnb booking is free of charge.

Airbnb has also announced plans to open the headquarters from Inside Out 2 (in theaters June 14) for bookings sometime in June, though specific dates are yet to be revealed.
