Alaska Cocktail
The countdown has begun…I’m setting sail on my Dinogo cruise to Alaska on May 26th. I can’t believe it! This trip has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember…
To celebrate this incredible adventure, honor my favorite time of day (happy hour), and raise a glass to the majestic snowy mountain peaks, I’m excited to share the Alaska Cocktail.
I’m so excited to wake up each morning, draw back the curtains, and watch whales leaping in their playground against a stunning glacier backdrop. Honestly, this trip is just perfect for me.
I’ll be spending my days at sea surrounded by breathtaking views, enjoying delicious meals, and sipping on Alaska cocktails. Plus, I’ll be taking part in several off-shore excursions. We kick off this adventure in Seattle before heading to Juneau, Skagway, Glacier Bay, Ketchikan, and Victoria. So many fantastic places to explore!
When I’m off the ship, I’ll be a glacier explorer, canopy adventurist, and husky dog musher. I’ll also be soaring over the landscape in a helicopter. Someone pinch me!
So, what exactly is an Alaska Cocktail? It’s a classic martini-style drink featuring the following ingredients: 2 dashes of orange bitters, gin, yellow chartreuse (or green if that’s what you have on hand), and lemon peel. This cocktail is aromatic, slightly sweet, and elegantly simple to prepare. I hope you enjoy this timeless drink, and I can’t wait to share more about my trip later this month!
RECIPE
- 1 1/2 oz dry gin
- 1/2-3/4 oz yellow chartreuse liquor
- dash of orange bitters
- ice
- twists of lemon peel for garnish
In a cocktail shaker, combine all ingredients (except for the lemon peel) with ice. Shake well and strain into martini glasses. Finish by garnishing with a twist of lemon peel.
