Banyan Tree’s inaugural Caribbean resort will be located in the Bahamas

The opulent Banyan Tree brand is set to expand into the Caribbean.
The first residential phase of Banyan Tree Bimini Resort & Residences is expected to debut in early 2025, with the full resort anticipated to open by 2027. This 50-suite, 54-residence development will be nestled on the tranquil Bahamian island of Bimini, just 48 nautical miles from Miami.
The developers emphasize the property's prime location: it’s less than a 30-minute flight from Miami and within three hours of New York City and several other major U.S. hubs.
This Caribbean expansion brings Banyan Tree (which is primarily based in Asia but also has locations in Mexico and the Middle East) significantly closer to the U.S.
"From the very beginning of this project, my aim has been to gather a top-tier team committed to taking the island to new heights," stated Rafael Reyes, owner of Banyan Tree Bimini's development firm, Rockwell Island Development Group. "As the closest Bahamian island to the U.S., Bimini is a hidden treasure that elite travelers will soon discover. Here, time seems to slow down, allowing life to unfold naturally."
The accommodations will consist of 24 beachfront villas and 26 overwater bungalows, reminiscent of those found in the Maldives. Every suite comes with a private terrace and a pool.
For those seeking a lasting connection to Banyan Tree, private residences at the resort begin at $ million. All residences are waterfront and include a private dock and access to the beach. Owners can also opt to join a rental program overseen by Banyan Tree.

Banyan Tree Bimini will offer a variety of unique amenities for guests, such as a beach club, a lounge, a signature restaurant, a library, and a bar — all emphasizing locally sourced and seasonal dishes. Naturally, no Banyan Tree is complete without the renowned Banyan Tree Spa, which will also be featured at the Bimini resort.
In addition to its exceptional and luxurious accommodations, Banyan Tree is renowned for offering authentic local experiences at its hotels and resorts.
"The Banyan Tree brand represents intimacy, nature, and local traditions, and Banyan Tree Bimini Resort & Residences embodies these principles by honoring the local culture and natural surroundings, encouraging guests to fully engage in this Sanctuary for the Senses," stated Eddy See, president and CEO of Banyan Group.
