Bermuda is easing travel requirements for fully vaccinated visitors
Bermuda, the British territory in the North Atlantic famous for its warm turquoise seas, charming pastel homes, premier diving spots, and pink-sand beaches, will be more accessible starting next month as it relaxes COVID-related travel rules for vaccinated travelers.
The updated regulations, effective March 7, will require all international arrivals to present proof of current vaccination and a negative COVID test (both antigen and PCR accepted) taken within two days prior to arrival. Additionally, visitors must complete a Travelers Authorization form before arriving. There will be no further post-arrival testing or quarantine for vaccinated individuals.
Bermuda classifies fully vaccinated individuals as those who have received two doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines (or one dose of Johnson & Johnson) within the last six months or three doses of an approved vaccine. This means proof of a booster shot is necessary if your vaccination was completed over six months ago. If a traveler’s home country mandates a negative COVID test for return (like the United States), Bermuda will automatically arrange for the required testing based on the Travelers Authorization form. If the testing time or location isn’t convenient, rescheduling can be done through the COVID-19 hotline at 441-444-2498 (or the toll-free number at 1-833-570-2594).
Until March 7, travelers aged 18 and older must still show proof of a negative COVID test (taken within four days of arrival for PCR or three days for antigen) and undergo a PCR test at the airport upon arrival, quarantining until results are available. They are also required to take follow-up antigen tests on the 4th and 10th days of their visit.
For unvaccinated travelers, Bermuda will soon be off-limits. Starting March 7, individuals over 12 who are not vaccinated will be prohibited from entering (until then, they may enter with a negative PCR test and a 10-day quarantine). Children under 12 are exempt from vaccination requirements as long as they are accompanied by vaccinated family members.
