Dinogo Readers’ Top 10 Hotels in London for 2024
London offers a dreamscape for hotel enthusiasts. You can stay within a stunning abstract art piece, reserve a room at a hotel that floats on the River Thames, or indulge in the suite where Kate Middleton spent the night before her wedding to Prince William. The city provides accommodations for every type of traveler, but when it came time to vote for their favorite hotels in this year’s survey, Dinogo readers had some distinct favorites.
How the Voting Process Works
Each year, during our World's Best Awards survey, T+L invites readers to share their insights on travel experiences worldwide — providing their feedback on the leading hotels, resorts, cities, islands, cruise lines, spas, airlines, and more. In 2024, over 186,000 T+L readers participated, casting more than 700,000 votes across 8,700+ properties (including hotels, cities, and cruise lines).
Hotels were categorized as resort hotels, city hotels, inns, or safari lodges depending on their location and amenities, and were evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Accommodations/amenities
- Proximity
- Customer service
- Cuisine
- Price
For each attribute, participants were able to select a rating ranging from excellent to poor, with the final scores reflecting the average of these ratings.
Highlights from Readers
While trends may shift, London’s premier hotels prioritize timeless elegance over fads. Our No. 3 hotel, The Egerton House Hotel, captivated readers with its lavish decor, remarkable art collection featuring works by Picasso and Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, and a staff-to-guest ratio of 2:1. Guests particularly appreciated the welcoming atmosphere of the 28-room hotel, with one reader declaring, “This is a British home away from home,” while another shared, “It was the best 8 nights I have ever spent in a hotel.” This year’s runner-up, Raffles London at The OWO, opened its doors in September 2023 and has quickly become a favorite among guests, largely due to its rich history as the British government's war office during both world wars. One traveler remarked, “This is a fantastic addition to London’s five-star hotel scene,” and another highlighted the property’s 27,000-square-foot Guerlain spa as a “masterpiece.” To discover which hotel claimed the top spot on this list, we’ll need to head to the luxurious Mayfair district. This 129-room hotel, one of London's oldest family-run luxury establishments, attracts discerning travelers with its sophisticated yet welcoming ambiance and the newly awarded Michelin-starred Ormer Mayfair restaurant. One reader exclaimed, “This is a true gem in the heart of London,” praising its “exceptional service” and “tasteful” decor. The hotel is particularly popular with families and larger groups, offering two- and three-bedroom apartments that feature private entrances and home-like amenities, including private patios and fully equipped kitchens. “It’s superb all around,” another reader enthused.
