Annually, for our World's Best Awards survey, T+L invites readers to share their travel experiences globally — offering insights into the finest hotels, resorts, cities, islands, cruise ships, spas, airlines, and more. In 2024, over 186,000 T+L readers participated in the survey, casting more than 700,000 votes across over 8,700 properties (including hotels, cities, and cruise lines).

Hotels were categorized as resort hotels, city hotels, inns, or safari lodges based on their location and amenities, and they were specifically assessed using the criteria outlined below:

This year, readers split their preferences between the east and west, selecting resort favorites from Quebec, British Columbia, Alberta, and Nova Scotia. The top choice, Manoir Hovey in Quebec’s Eastern Townships, has earned this title for the fourth consecutive year.

Fairmont Chateau Whistler (No. 2), beloved by skiers, returns this year, trading places with the Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler (No. 3).
