Experience Glamping in Cozy Domes on a Secluded Canadian Island Featuring 180-Degree Views, a Skylight, and Opportunities to Witness the Northern Lights
The winter landscape at Station Boréale resembles a scene from a snow globe: Cleared paths lead to a village of igloo-like domes featuring large picture windows and sunny skylights. The area is surrounded by woods and is located on a small island in a lake in Western Quebec.
Station Boréale is a remarkable destination — and truly worth the journey to reach it. In the summer, activities center around De Montigny Lake, which offers fishing, paddleboarding, and kayaking, with equipment rentals available. The Siscoe Golf Club is conveniently located by the lakefront.
Winters on Siscoe Island are truly exceptional. Station Boréale’s eight lakefront domes are designed for Quebec’s northern climate, offering a cozy haven from the rigors of the Canadian winter. The heated floors provide a warm embrace after a day of snowmobiling through the Abitibi-Témiscamingue wilderness or exploring the frozen lake on skis or snowshoes, while the elevated beds are positioned beneath a domed skylight, allowing for stunning views of the night sky.

I am delighted to apply my experience in the events industry to craft a memorable experience for you,” stated Melissa Drainville, general manager of Station Boréale, on its website.
And what a remarkable experience it is. Each of the eight domes at Station Boréale features a fully equipped kitchen, a contemporary bathroom, and a living room with panoramic 180-degree views. Besides the bed on the mezzanine beneath the skylight, the living room sofa converts into a queen-size bed, allowing each dome to host up to four guests.

The domes, located along the western shore of Siscoe Island, enjoy a prime view. As night falls, the magic shifts upwards, where the Northern Lights and the star-filled sky become the stars of the show.
