Frontier introduces 11 new routes, featuring new service to JFK and a return to Dulles.

The network expansion is ongoing at Frontier Airlines. The ultra-low-cost carrier based in Denver announced nearly a dozen new routes on Tuesday, set to begin this fall.
The new routes include Frontier's fourth and fifth nonstop flights from New York City's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). Until this summer, the airline had not operated from this airport.
Frontier is also making a comeback at Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR) for the first time since last year, as well as at Dulles International Airport (IAD) near Washington, D.C., for the first time since 2021.

Overall, the airline's recent network changes impact 15 cities nationwide.
This is part of a long-term restructuring aimed at enhancing profitability for Frontier.
After introducing over 100 new routes earlier this year and cutting dozens, the airline is revising its fall schedule to concentrate on the peak leisure travel days, resulting in significant reductions for Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Despite the decrease in midweek flights, many of the new routes launched this week will offer daily service or multiple round trips each week, including on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
According to a Frontier spokesperson, there were no cuts associated with Tuesday's announcement, as reported to TPG.

Important details about these new routes
While Frontier currently does not operate any of these 11 routes, it has previously serviced many of them. In fact, the airline last offered nonstop flights on several of these routes in 2022 or earlier.

Except for the Cincinnati-to-Sarasota route, all of these new routes connect to major hubs of the "Big Three" U.S. network airlines. This aligns with Frontier's strategy this year that shifts focus away from traditional leisure destinations toward catering to travelers visiting friends and family in large cities.
Regarding the Washington, D.C. area, Frontier has not served Dulles in recent years; the airline currently operates flights from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) and Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI).
This new route announcement also highlights the carrier's rapid expansion in 2024 at ATL — the busiest airport in the world — as well as in CVG, where it has recently set up a crew base.
If you're traveling with Frontier, make sure to enroll in the Frontier Miles loyalty program to start accumulating miles and enjoy benefits. The airline's updated program, featuring new perks and elite tiers, was introduced earlier this year.
