Isles of Scilly crowned as the UK’s most breathtaking destination of exceptional natural beauty

According to a survey by users of the consumer platform Which?, the Isles of Scilly have been declared the most scenic and beautiful spot in the UK for its unparalleled natural beauty.
Situated about 30 miles off the Cornish coast in southwest England, this idyllic archipelago is famous for its stunning ocean vistas, Mediterranean-like flora, and rugged landscapes.
Across the five islands, remnants of history like Roman brooches and Gallic clay figurines have been uncovered, scattered across the rugged Atlantic shores.
With 34 destinations in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland, plus 40 locations in Scotland, a total of 5,813 participants rated their experiences based on factors such as scenic beauty, walking trails, wildlife, and local attractions.

Despite borders reopening, some travel restrictions stemming from the pandemic remain, causing many holidaymakers to opt for 'staycations,' a trend that has grown in popularity across the UK.
The expansive sandy beaches along the Northumberland coast claimed second place. Known for its seals, puffins, and the occasional dolphin, this coastline offers miles of sandy dunes, marshes, and mudflats perfect for scenic walks.
Other top destinations include Northern Ireland’s 30km stretch of the Causeway Coast, famous for the Giant’s Causeway’s basalt columns, and Strangford Lough, a biodiverse sea loch surrounded by woodlands, meadows, and marshes.
Northern Ireland proved popular among participants, securing four of the top 10 spots. Seaside towns in Cornwall and Dorset also received favorable rankings, along with Wales’ Gower Peninsula, a favorite among surfers, swimmers, and dog walkers.
