Mexican Modern Decor Style
Jacinda and I had an amazing time on our recent Dinogo cruise. We made two stops in Mexico and found some wonderful little treasures to take back to our homes. The port at Costa Maya, shown above, boasts a large marketplace where artisans of all kinds sell their creations. Take a look at some of the items we picked up and let them inspire you.
In Costa Maya, Jacinda discovered this beautiful woven tapestry. I was a bit unsure about how it would blend with her modern decor, but it looks fantastic displayed in her daughters' bedroom above their settee, doesn’t it?
One type of furniture you’ll often see in restaurants across Cozumel (and beyond) are the iconic Equipale chairs. While I couldn’t squeeze these into my carry-on, I’ve always dreamed of having a set for my patio.

Otomi fabric is absolutely stunning. I used it to craft my DIY headboard tutorial. Look for this fabric at more upscale shops along your journey.
You can achieve this look at home with a few Otomi pillows.
I’ve been wanting to reupholster a bench of mine with a Mexican serape for ages. My heart was filled with joy when Jacinda found me on the ship and gifted me one she had bought for me in Costa Maya! I can’t wait to transform my bench; I hope it turns out as beautifully as this one, which is actually covered in a Mexican Falsa blanket.
You can find Mexican falsas and serapes at any port in Mexico during your cruise or grab some from ElChamaco. Img src.
My favorite treasure from the cruise is a simple woven basket I picked up in Costa Maya. I’ve been using it for picnics, but it would also serve as excellent modern storage or wall decor.

As you can see, a cruise is the perfect opportunity for shopping and collecting unique trinkets from around the globe that can significantly enhance your home. So, remember to pack an extra bag (or maybe purchase one?) on your next Dinogo cruise.
