Resy Will Cover Your Bill at These Local Restaurants Across the USA
As summer dining heats up, Resy invites food lovers to explore some hidden gem local eateries. The Amex-owned reservation service is organizing dinners at 25 exceptional neighborhood restaurants in six major U.S. cities throughout August, under the banner of “The Resy Tastemakers” program. And guess what? Resy will handle the bill at the end of your meal!
Anyone can book these weekly events to have their meal covered, up to $99 per person, at Resy.com/shopsmall or via the Resy app. Diners residing in—or visiting—the following cities are welcome to join: Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York City, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C.

The initial reservation release for the Tastemakers program will begin on Monday, August 7, at 10 a.m. local time, and will be available every Monday in August for the weekly Wednesday night dinner bookings throughout the month. As expected, demand is likely to exceed availability for these complimentary meals, so those who act quickly will have the best chance to secure a reservation (hint, hint, Resy).
According to Resy executives, the goal of Tastemakers is to support independently owned restaurants by encouraging casual diners to become regulars at their favorite local spots. “Big ideas originate from small restaurants,” states Pablo Rivero, CEO of Resy and vice president of dining for American Express, emphasizing that the program will help “diners discover the venues that shape our culinary experiences.”

Featured venues include Txikito in New York City, a Basque eatery that was revitalized by its husband-and-wife owners after a 30-month closure. Following extensive renovations, Txikito reopened with a fresh menu and was named one of the New York Times’ 100 Best Restaurants. On the West Coast, Harold & Belle’s has become a beloved institution in south Los Angeles, serving authentic New Orleans-style Creole cuisine for over 50 years.
“Our restaurant carries a rich history, but having new guests dine with us is incredibly meaningful, no matter how much time passes,” shares Jessica Legaux, co-owner of Harold & Belle’s. “As a third-generation family business, it’s vital for us to connect with the next generation.”

Alongside the scheduled August events, Resy is launching a broader promotion for U.S.-based American Express cardholders at 200 restaurants nationwide. Beginning August 1, eligible Amex card members can sign up for an offer to receive a $15 statement credit when they spend $60 or more in a single transaction at select Resy restaurants (available up to two times) by August 31. This promotion also covers other restaurants in the six major U.S. cities mentioned above, as well as locations in Atlanta, Austin, Dallas, New Orleans, Seattle, and more.
To take advantage of this deal, Amex cardholders need to log into their accounts (either online or through the Amex app), register for the “Resy Tastemaker” offer, and pay with their Amex card at the restaurant. The statement credit is automatic, though it may take up to 90 days to be processed.
In 2019, American Express acquired Resy and has been developing a comprehensive suite of travel and dining perks for its cardholders. Amex proudly states that holders of its premium credit cards receive priority access to exclusive reservations and offers.
However, American Express isn’t the only credit card company exploring the culinary landscape. Chase’s acquisition of the Infatuation in 2021 has paved the way for dining events and editorial content tailored specifically for cardholders. Meanwhile, in 2022, Capital One launched its own curated restaurant collection in collaboration with chef José Andrés, known as Capital One Dining.
