Singapore KrisFlyer Global Redemption promotion: Enjoy 25% off premium economy from North America — but is it a good deal?

The Global Redemption promotion from Singapore Airlines is back, allowing members to book award flights for 25% fewer KrisFlyer miles. While North American transatlantic routes are restricted to premium economy at select airports, if you're planning your next 2025 vacation — or if you're in Asia, Africa, the Southwest Pacific, or Europe and want to add another destination to your journey — this offer may catch your eye.
Additionally, you don’t need to earn Singapore KrisFlyer miles to benefit from this promotion; you can transfer them from various popular credit card rewards programs.
Here are all the details you need.

Deal Overview: Singapore KrisFlyer Global Redemption promotion

As noted, if you're flying from the U.S. to Singapore, this promotion only offers premium economy seats. According to the deal, you can fly from Singapore to San Francisco (or the other way around) for 56,250 KrisFlyer miles. Be aware that there are blackout dates for these routes. You can also find premium economy tickets from Singapore to New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) for 60,375 miles or from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to Singapore for the same price. These routes are not subject to blackout dates.
It's important to note that the KrisFlyer miles required are one-way per person, and availability is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Besides traveling from North America, you can visit the Singapore KrisFlyer promotional details page to see the complete list of available routes. This includes 25% off select Saver award tickets in economy and business class for flights from Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Southwest Pacific region.
A few key points to keep in mind:
- Make your bookings by Sept. 22, 2024, and travel between Jan. 15 and May 29, 2025. (Certain routes may have blackout dates.)
- This sale covers all Singapore Airlines destinations in economy and selected routes in premium economy and business class.
- Redemption must be done through the Singapore Airlines website or app. No promo code or registration is required; the discounted price will automatically display when you search for eligible flights.
You'll need to move quickly to take advantage of this offer. While the booking deadline is Sept. 22, the travel window extends over several months into early 2025.
Is it a good deal?

Given the limited options from North American airports, this deal might not be particularly advantageous for you. Additionally, if you wish to travel to Singapore, you can find business-class availability via Star Alliance partner Air Canada Aeroplan, with flights starting at just 60,000 Aeroplan points each way, which is less expensive than a premium economy ticket from EWR to Singapore.
Moreover, Singapore Airlines frequently runs award redemption promotions known as Spontaneous Escapes, which typically offer a shorter travel window (hence the "spontaneous" aspect). For example, in August, you could score 30% off Saver award tickets, but you had to travel in September.
If your travel plans are flexible, this could lead to a better deal, as you might have chosen to fly Singapore Airlines business class between New York and Frankfurt for only 56,700 miles, or 36,400 miles in premium economy (based on Singapore's August 2024 offer).
However, the current Global Redemption sale provides travelers with a bit more flexibility. Unlike the Spontaneous Escapes, this sale doesn't happen every month. We haven't seen a comparable offer from KrisFlyer in nearly a year.
Even if you don’t have a collection of KrisFlyer miles, you can still benefit from this sale, especially if you're looking to book short-haul economy flights within Asia. KrisFlyer partners with four major transferable points currencies: Amex Membership Rewards, Capital One miles, Chase Ultimate Rewards, and Citi ThankYou Rewards. You can transfer any of these rewards to KrisFlyer miles at a 1:1 ratio.
If you're planning a trip to Asia this winter or spring, this sale is a fantastic opportunity to utilize your credit card rewards.
Final thoughts
The Singapore KrisFlyer Global Redemption sale is a rare opportunity that allows you to save 25% on KrisFlyer miles redemptions. The extended travel window offers more flexibility compared to most of KrisFlyer's promotions, but remember, you must book by Sept. 22, so consider if this deal suits your needs.
