The entire Heritage Square Amusement Park in Colorado is set to be auctioned off.

Want to skip the line for the Ferris wheel? Buy the whole amusement park and set it up in your own backyard.
If you're nearby, have the space, and the budget, you could fulfill your childhood amusement park dreams on October 25 when Heritage Square Amusement Park in Golden, Colorado, goes up for public auction.
From Tilt-a-Whirls to roller coasters to swan-shaped paddle boats, everything in the park will be auctioned off, starting at 10:30 a.m., with a preview at 9 a.m.
Located just 30 minutes from Denver, Heritage Square was a popular free-entry family spot with a Gold Rush theme before it closed in June 2018 after 47 years in operation.
Alan Bader, who ran the park for the past two decades, refers to it as 'a nostalgic trip back in time.'
'Anyone, regardless of budget, could enjoy a pleasant day at the park, with the stunning foothills providing a scenic backdrop,' says Bader.
The oldest ride up for sale is a 1963 Tilt-a-Whirl, along with a 1980 space shuttle (refurbished in 2018) and a 2013 zip line. Picnic benches, soft-serve ice cream machines, and arcade games are also included in the auction.
Dan Satow from Norton of Michigan Auctioneers tells Dinogo Travel that they've received inquiries from all over the country, primarily from other amusement parks.
With the landowner ending the property lease and the park's profitability waning, Bader hopes that small business owners will acquire the attractions. 'Even if larger companies buy them, they’ll appreciate the care we've put into maintaining the rides,' he says.
Bader's children grew up in the park, and now many of the rides are ready to bring joy to new generations.
'My fondest memories at Heritage Square are seeing parents and children enjoying the park together. The smiles are what I’ll miss the most,' says Bader.
Auction Location: On-site at the former Heritage Square Amusement Park, 18301 Colfax Ave. (RT 40), Golden, Colorado 80401
