The first hotel in the U.S. featuring flight simulators will open its doors this fall

Ever dreamed of engaging in a virtual F-16 dogfight? Or playing the role of a commercial airline pilot attempting to land at the world's busiest airport? Your aviation dreams are closer than you think.
When Hotel Polaris opens this fall, it will feature three flight simulators — a U.S. hotel first. The 375-room luxury property, located at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado, promises an unforgettable experience.

Two of the simulators will replicate the U.S. Air Force's F-16 Fighting Falcons, complete with a fully functional cockpit and controls. A mixed reality setup will allow users to experience flying in formation with a 360-degree immersive view.
The fighter jet simulators are networked together, allowing two players to fly in sync, tackle the same missions, challenge each other, soar through valleys, hit ground targets, or take on enemy aircraft.
The third simulator offers an authentic Boeing 737-MAX cockpit experience, complete with a pilot’s perspective and a curved 200-degree seamless screen. Guests can try various flight activities, from taking off and landing at some of the world’s most challenging airports to flying full routes between domestic airports. This offers both aviation enthusiasts and retired pilots a fun and nostalgic virtual experience.
"Our simulators are designed to offer an immersive experience for everyone, from the curious beginner to the seasoned aviation enthusiast," said general manager Curtis Bova. "This technology gives you the sensation of actually soaring through the skies."
While pricing is still being finalized, the simulators will be available to hotel guests, visitors, and groups, with online reservations. Costs will be based on the duration of the experience, allowing you to book a set number of hours for your chosen mission. For example, you could fly a two-hour journey from Chicago O'Hare International (ORD) to San Francisco International (SFO).
Located about 25 miles from Colorado Springs Airport (COS) and 80 miles from Denver International (DEN), Hotel Polaris is the perfect base for exploring Pike's Peak and Colorado Springs. It is part of a mixed-use development that also includes the Air Force Academy’s new 32,000-square-foot Hosmer Visitor Center, with architecture inspired by the Rocky Mountains and the Air Force Academy's midcentury modern style.
The hotel is full of playful aviation-themed touches, from brass desks shaped like airplane wings in the rooms to a mosaic art wall near the conference area that uses AI to generate flight industry-specific keywords.

Beyond the flight simulators, the hotel will feature six distinct dining and beverage options. The Aviator will offer panoramic views and craft cocktails, while Pamela’s will serve a sophisticated take on classic American dishes. A rooftop bar with a constellation-inspired design will add a fun touch to the experience.
The hotel’s full-service spa and wellness center boasts six treatment rooms and a range of activities, including fitness classes, yoga, group hikes, and personalized dietary advice. Guests can also relax at the outdoor pool, sun deck, and enjoy 26,000 square feet of event space.
However, the main attraction of the hotel will undoubtedly be its immersive experiences designed for aviation enthusiasts and aspiring pilots. "Inspired by the hotel’s name, we aim to encourage each guest to discover their own path and find their true north," said Bova.
Get ready for takeoff.
