While this is the priciest period to travel, the experience is undoubtedly rewarding.

The Lakes District is enjoyable from September to November, while April showcases the vibrant colors of autumn in the south. March features grape harvests and wine festivals in the wine country.
Low Season: June to August

This period is also ideal for visiting the north, as tourist crowds thin out. However, be aware that services along the Carretera Austral may be limited, especially since mountain passes can become snowbound.
Keep in mind that transportation and accommodations tend to be crowded in July.

February is the month when Chileans most love to vacation. With relentless heat from the north to Santiago, many head south, especially to Pucón and the Lakes District. March
A fantastic month for traveling in Chile. As autumn arrives, summer crowds begin to thin out. While temperatures drop across the country, Southern Patagonia often remains dry and less windy, providing excellent hiking conditions. The grape harvest kicks off in the Central Valley. April
Vibrant reds and yellows paint the forests of Northern Patagonia, though rain may arrive any day. The south is clearing out, but you might still enjoy some good hiking weather. Santiago and the Central Valley experience pleasantly mild temperatures. Key events: Campeonato Nacional de Rodeo

June

July
Chilean winter vacation sees families traveling en masse. Ski resorts are fully operational, and those who venture into Patagonia will encounter beautiful winter scenery without the notorious summer winds. Key events: Festival de la Virgen del Carmen; Carnaval de Invierno
August
