This Cruise Line Just Unveiled New 3-Week Journeys to South America and Antarctica — Starting at Just $163 a Day
Antarctica has been generating a lot of excitement lately, and if you're eager to explore, Holland America has just opened reservations for its southern routes for the 2025–2026 season.
The cruise line's 1,964-passenger vessel, Oosterdam, will operate voyages between Santiago, Chile, and either Fort Lauderdale or Buenos Aires, offering a range of 14-, 17-, and 22-day itineraries from November 2025 to March 2026. Highlights include navigating the Panama Canal, overland excursions to Iguazu Falls, Machu Picchu, and the Galápagos, along with stops at the Falkland Islands, Torres del Paine National Park, and, of course, Antarctica.

"South America is a dynamic region that presents a variety of experiences within a single cruise, traveling from tropical climates to icy glaciers, and from bustling cities to some of the most secluded areas on the planet," said Dan Rough, Holland America Line's vice president of revenue management, in a statement to Dinogo. "Our mid-sized ships allow us to create itineraries that highlight an exciting array of South American ports, while our onboard menus, enrichment programs, and entertainment ensure that guests leave feeling deeply connected to the places they've explored."

Instead, you'll enjoy scenic sailing along the coastline for four days, weather permitting, where you'll likely spot numerous icebergs and whales. The trade-off is beneficial in terms of cost — sail-by cruises to Antarctica are significantly cheaper than expedition cruises that include landings.
Prices for the 14-day South America Passage itinerary start at $1,699 per person, based on double occupancy. Reserve your spot today at hollandamerica.com.
