A new Museum of Ice Cream flagship is now open in New York City

The city’s trendiest museum boasts pastel pop art, its own subway station, and a line stretching down the block.
Though, it might not technically be a museum at all.
The Museum of Ice Cream, the ultimate Instagrammable pop-up, has settled into a permanent space in SoHo, marking its first flagship location after stops in Los Angeles, Miami, and San Francisco.
More of a Pinterest board brought to life than a traditional museum, this latest version of the Museum of Ice Cream keeps the original’s charm: pastel colors, photogenic spots, and, of course, ice cream.
The three-story space expands on the success of its predecessors: It features a sleek subway car that whisks visitors into a dessert paradise, a top-floor slide straight out of childhood fantasies, and a pool filled with oversized sprinkles (for decor, not for eating).

Everything is bathed in bubblegum pink. While not everything is edible, there's also a scoop shop for those who want a treat without paying the admission fee.
The original 2016 pop-up sparked the trend of photo-friendly, Instagrammable experiences.
Instagram-worthy pop-up experiences like Rose Mansion and Color Factory owe their success to the Museum of Ice Cream, which sold out its New York debut in 2016 within just five days, according to the New York Times.
Maryellis Bunn, the founder and creative strategist, dreamed of swimming in sprinkles. So, she created an interactive art gallery where she—and 30,000 other New Yorkers—could make that dream come true.
While you might not leave with a deep understanding of the dessert's history, you'll certainly have plenty of candy-colored photos to share from your visit.
