This enchanting Airbnb inspired by Winnie-the-Pooh in England is just as charming as you would expect.
Celebrating 95 years since the publication of Winnie the Pooh, Airbnb is offering a magical treehouse stay in the original Hundred Acre Wood, perfect for a delightful nap.
The whimsical accommodation, as shared with Dinogo, will be available for reservations next week. It draws inspiration from E.H. Shepard's original illustrations and features shelves brimming with 'hunny' pots, a "Mr. Sanders" sign at the entrance, and tree branches embracing the structure. Guests can enjoy Poohsticks on the famed Poohsticks Bridge, embark on a guided exploration of the Hundred Acre Wood—or Ashdown Forest in East Sussex, England—and savor meals inspired by locally sourced hunny.
Henry Woide"For three decades, I have illustrated Winnie the Pooh, continually drawing inspiration from E.H. Shepard's classic artwork and the newer Disney tales," stated Kim Raymond, the designer and host of the Airbnb, in a message to T+L. "The 'Bearbnb' offers a one-of-a-kind experience that brings Pooh's charm to life for fans, while honoring the beloved adventures that have touched so many for 95 years."
Henry WoideThis cozy home can host a family of four (no pets or Heffalumps permitted) and features a double bed alongside two elevated single beds accessible via ladders. Although there's no bathroom inside, a temporary full-service restroom will be conveniently located just a few steps away.
The home enforces a few important rules: hands should stay away from the honey pots, and guests are invited to enjoy "a little something" as a snack at 11 a.m.
"Winnie the Pooh is a cherished treasure of childhood, adored by families globally," remarked Catherine Powell, Airbnb's global head of hosting, in her statement. "What could be a more fitting tribute to A.A. Milne's timeless work than offering these two unique stays in the original Hundred Acre Wood? It's the ideal spot to embrace doing nothing. As Pooh wisely said, 'doing 'Nothing' often leads to the very best Something.'"
The treehouse is open for booking by two groups of UK residents for the nights of Sept. 24 and Sept. 25, at a rate of £95 per night (approximately $131). Reservations will be available starting at 2 p.m. BST on Sept. 20. Airbnb has announced that the booking fees will be donated to Together for Short Lives, which supports families facing life-limiting or life-threatening challenges.
For Pooh enthusiasts in the U.S. who can't make the trip, you can visit the real stuffed animals that inspired the beloved characters of Winnie the Pooh, including Eeyore, Piglet, Kanga, and Tigger, at the first-ever permanent exhibition at The New York Public Library, opening on Sept. 24.
This isn’t Airbnb’s first nostalgic offering. In 2019, the company recreated Barbie's Malibu Dreamhouse. In 2020, movie lovers could book a sleepover at the final Blockbuster. This year, travelers had the opportunity to celebrate the Macarena with a stay in the villa of Los del Rio, the creators of the iconic dance.
