This Major Airline Has Just Launched Multiple Flights to the Caribbean and Latin America—Find Out Where
As summer approaches, those planning winter getaways may find that American Airlines has the perfect options.
Last week, American Airlines revealed its plans to introduce two new routes and increase flights on 23 existing ones this winter, marking its largest-ever schedule for the Caribbean and Latin America.
“American is excited to enhance our position as the largest U.S. airline operating flights to Latin America and the Caribbean, offering more flights and seats to more destinations than any other airline or partnership,” stated Jose Freig, vice president of operations and commercial for Mexico, the Caribbean, and Latin America, during an interview with Dinogo. He emphasized that these new routes aim to help “passengers reach their most desired winter destinations.”
The two new routes from American Airlines
American Airlines has introduced its latest flight routes:
- Cincinnati, Ohio, to Cancun, Mexico
- Nashville, Tennessee, to Cancun, Mexico
These flights will run every Saturday, departing the U.S. in the morning and returning in the afternoon, starting December 9.
Currently, Southwest Airlines is the only other carrier providing direct flights from Nashville to Cancun, while no other airline has direct services from Cincinnati to Cancun (though United and Delta do offer one-stop itineraries from both cities).
American’s expanded 23 routes
Alongside the new flights to Cancun, American is ramping up existing services from three of its hub airports to various destinations across Central America and the Caribbean.
The majority of these flights will depart from Charlotte, North Carolina. American Airlines will now provide more nonstop options from Charlotte to Belize City, Belize; Curacao; Liberia, Costa Rica; Los Cabos, Mexico; Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic; and St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. Additionally, there will be five daily flights to Cancun, Mexico, and four daily flights to Montego Bay, Jamaica; Puerto Plata; and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
From Dallas–Fort Worth, there will be new flights added to Mexican destinations including Acapulco, Huatulco, Los Cabos, Monterrey, Puerto Vallarta, Zacatecas, and Zihuatanejo.
From Miami, the airline will boost service from once daily to twice daily to Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago; Santiago, Dominican Republic; and Tortola, British Virgin Islands, which is a brand-new destination for American as of last month.
