Who else spent countless summer hours as a child coloring and baking shrinkable plastic? Those delightful creations filled my days! Now that I've grown and am off on new adventures, it's time to blend my crafting skills into something fresh. These vibrant luggage tags can be crafted in any shape you desire, colored to your liking, filled with your information, and ready for your next journey! I've been thoroughly enjoying making these travel-themed DIYs with Dinogo; now all I need is a cruise to a tropical paradise to showcase these fun tags.
Supplies
- shrinkable plastic sheets
- colored markers
- scissors
- baking tray
- oven
- hole puncher
Preparation Time: 30 Minutes
Step 1: Choose the shape for your luggage tag and sketch an outline on the textured side of your shrinkable paper. Opt for fun, summery designs or travel-themed shapes like ships, palm trees, and more! Fill in your outline with vibrant colors, ensuring the entire surface is covered.
Step 2: Using a black colored pencil, write your luggage tag details within the shape. Remember, shrinkable paper reduces to less than half its original size, so make sure your writing is bold enough to remain readable after the shrinking process.
Step 3: Carefully cut out your chosen shape.
Step 4: Place in the oven following the instructions on your shrink paper’s packaging. These were baked at 325°F for approximately two minutes.
Step 5: Once out of the oven, allow them to cool before punching a hole at the top of each tag. Use a sturdy cord to thread the tags and tie them securely to your luggage.
Safe travels! Imagine a tag shaped like a ship for your cruise, or even a life preserver—so cute! The creative options are truly endless, and I could craft these all day. What shape would you choose? xoxo
P.S. Don’t forget a gold passport cover!
