Travelers can now sign up for TSA PreCheck through Clear at 13 airports in the U.S.
Starting Wednesday, customers can enroll in and renew their TSA PreCheck memberships using Clear at 13 U.S. airports, following Clear's designation as an official enrollment provider for the Trusted Traveler Program in April.
New York City's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) is the newest airport where travelers can register for both programs. Clear, the expedited security service, joins Idemia and Telos as providers, with Telos being added in August 2023.
In April 2023, a spokesperson for the Transportation Security Administration announced that Clear would be approved as the third enrollment provider for TSA PreCheck. Although travelers could enroll in both Clear and TSA PreCheck at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) for several months, a Clear representative indicated that the official rollout occurred on April 30, 2024.
TSA PreCheck applicants can provide their email, ZIP code, and phone number to Clear to apply for both programs together as a bundled option.
"According to a TSA representative, there is no overlap between Clear's program and its TSA PreCheck application, and the enrollment processes occur on different devices,"
To enroll in TSA PreCheck through Clear, individuals can either complete the pre-enrollment online or visit one of the 13 Clear enrollment sites currently open (all times local):

The TSA indicates that additional airports will be added in the future.
Typically, Clear costs $189 per year and TSA PreCheck starts at $78 for a five-year membership. However, those who sign up for TSA PreCheck through Clear can enjoy both services for a reduced fee of $200. To qualify for this rate, travelers must complete their pre-enrollment within 14 days.
Visit ENROLL.CLEARME.COM to get started."While pre-enrolling is definitely beneficial, it’s not a requirement," a Clear representative mentioned.
In addition to enrolling at the specified Clear locations, travelers have the option to apply at various Telos and Idemia sites.
For renewals, travelers can finalize their application online via Clear, Telos, or Idemia at the standard fee, which varies by provider but is generally around $70. TSA PreCheck users who are new to Clear can renew their membership through Clear and take advantage of a bundled price of $199.95.
The collaboration between Clear and PreCheck originates from the TSA Modernization Act and the Federal Aviation Administration Reauthorization Act of 2018.
"TSA PreCheck enrollment through CLEAR offers travelers a quick and streamlined airport experience," said Clear CEO Caryn Seidman-Becker in a statement. "This is a beneficial arrangement for U.S. travelers, granting them access to more enrollment sites, extended hours, and additional perks."
Some credit cards provide statement credits that cover the application fees for both Clear and TSA PreCheck.
