Uber launches new features for travelers, featuring a Flying Blue points promotion for riders in Paris

In anticipation of the Paris Olympics, Uber announced a range of new features, products, and partnerships on Tuesday, including a Flying Blue promotion that allows passengers to earn miles across France and the Netherlands.
Eligible riders can earn 1 Flying Blue mile for each euro ($1.09) spent on Uber rides. Those taking four or more trips monthly can earn 2 miles for every euro spent. This promotion is exclusive to passengers in France and the Netherlands, including visitors.
"This is a multi-year collaboration with Flying Blue," stated an Uber representative. "Our current focus is on rides in France and the Netherlands."
Riders can take part in the promotion by linking their Uber and Flying Blue accounts within the settings of their Uber app.

Alongside the Flying Blue promotion, Uber has introduced a new search feature called City Insights, allowing riders to discover Uber services in over 10,000 cities globally (more details will be shared at the product's official launch). To explore various experiences, open your Uber app, tap "Where to?" and choose "Search in a different city." You can also monitor wait times and estimated fares using City Insights.
"At launch, riders will have access to average wait times and prices in over 10,000 cities worldwide," an Uber representative stated.
While passengers could reserve rides using the standard Uber app, they can now do this through City Insights as well.
"With this feature, riders can use Uber Reserve to book rides in advance from any location within the city," an Uber spokesperson explained. "Additionally, riders can utilize Uber Reserve for scheduling airport pickups."
Paris airports are expected to be bustling in the days leading up to and during the Olympics. City Insights (along with the Uber Reserve feature) allows you to book rides at airports globally, including:
- John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), New York City
- LaGuardia Airport (LGA), New York City
- Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR)
- O'Hare International Airport (ORD), Chicago
- Midway International Airport (MDW), Chicago
- Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)
- Melbourne Airport (MEL)
- Sydney Airport (SYD)
- Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG), Paris
- Cote d'Azur Airport (NCE), Nice
- Orly Airport (ORY), Paris
- Fiumicino Leonardo da Vinci Airport (FCO), Rome
- Heathrow Airport (LHR), London
- Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL), Delhi
Uber has also rolled out two Paris-specific experiences, including Uber Bubbles, the first Champagne tour (launched in collaboration with luxury Champagne houses Perrier-Jouet and G.H. Mumm) that you can book directly in the app. For 200 euros ($218), guests will be transported in an Uber Bubbles-branded Tesla to two wine tastings followed by lunch.

If you’re looking to glide down the Seine in style this summer, consider booking an Uber Boat, which allows you to pre-book a private river cruise right through the Uber app. Cruises run daily from 3 to 10 p.m., lasting one hour, with departures every 20 minutes from the Pont Marie bridge in central Paris. Uber Boat will be available for booking in the City of Light from July 12 to 18 and again from July 28 to August 3.
