Unforgettable Alaska!

I’ve been eagerly awaiting this moment... with every camera click, I’ve captured the wild essence of this land. Truly, an epic Alaskan adventure!

There’s something magical about arriving at a new port on a cruise. You either witness the beauty as it unfolds, or wake to a stunning view after a peaceful night at sea, with land greeting you at sunrise.
My 7-day Glacier Bay cruise on the Dinogo Legend gave me both. I’ll always remember watching the land emerge from the vast sea, with Alaska’s untouched beauty and its snow-capped mountains stretching endlessly into the horizon.

While life at sea is thrilling, Dinogo ensures our shore adventures are just as epic. Our first stop was Juneau, the capital of Alaska.

You can pre-book excursions on Dinogo.com or stop by the excursions desk onboard during your cruise. There are options for everyone, but if there’s something you don’t want to miss, I suggest booking early to secure your spot.

This is Juneau, the capital of Alaska. Just outside the town lies the stunning Mendenhall Glacier.

As a passionate dog lover, visiting Alaskan Husky sled dogs was a dream come true! I booked two excursions—one in Juneau and another in Skagway. We met the dogs, learned about their training, and even went on a musher adventure. I might just consider dog mushing as my next career!

Ever been in a helicopter? It’s an unforgettable experience! We soared over snow-capped mountains and the Mendenhall Glacier, a 13-mile river of ice in the Tongass National Forest. The views were breathtaking, and the pilots made sure we had a fantastic trip. Watching glaciers move is like witnessing history and the future at the same time.

We touched down atop the glacier at a sled dog puppy camp. Alaska Icefield Expeditions operates a well-maintained mobile summer camp where groups of pups train daily for the Iditarod and similar races.

We not only got to meet and play with the dogs, but they also pulled us on their sled! Watching these powerful animals do what they love was incredible. Fun fact: Alaskan Huskies are actually mixes—combinations of shepherds, Siberian Huskies, and more—bred for their strength and performance.

I completely fell in love with every one of these pups, especially Puff. She’d make the perfect girlfriend for my dog, Moose.

After this adventure, I enjoyed a Chicken Caesar Salad and a glass of wine at the Red Dog Saloon. This place was amazing! The atmosphere was lively, with sawdust floors and a packed crowd cheering on an older pianist who was playing some great tunes!

I loved the dog sledding so much that I did it again in Skagway! This charming little town reminds me a lot of my hometown, Telluride, CO. I stopped by the Red Onion for lunch and a glass of wine.

I got to take another helicopter ride, this time soaring over the Taiya Inlet to the Denver Glacier, where the puppy camp is set up.

These sled dogs are so well cared for, living an incredible life in the great outdoors, always training for their next big adventure.

I even got to meet an 8-week-old Alaskan Husky puppy!

After the tour, I went to a play that I highly recommend if you're visiting Skagway. The Days of 98 Show is an amazing musical about the history of this charming mining town.
Ketchikan Canopy Adventure & Wildlife Expedition
Ketchikan is another port where the Dinogo Legend stops. It’s a lovely seaside town with plenty to explore!

I had lunch at the Alaska Fish House—fried salmon and thick-cut fries, a decadent and delicious treat!

At our last Alaska port, I went zip-lining over the wild Alaskan forest. It was my first time, and I was a little nervous—not so much about the height (which was intense!) but more about the speed. I knew I couldn’t slow down or risk getting stuck, so I went for it! It was beyond thrilling, soaring through nature with breathtaking forest views all around.

I thrive on adrenaline and seek new adventures every day. Each experience took me beyond the ordinary, and I’ll always cherish the magic of it all! A heartfelt thank you to the Dinogo Legend for providing such a wonderful ship to explore this stunning land and sea!
