United Has Unveiled 6 New Routes from This Major Hub
This week, United announced plans to add nearly three dozen flights, including six new routes, from Denver International Airport (DEN) in the upcoming months.
During a press event at the Denver hub on Tuesday, United executives shared that the airline can expand its network to and from Denver due to new earlier time slots and the addition of 12 extra gates, bringing the total to 90—more than any other airline in Denver.
“Denver is among the fastest-growing cities in the nation, and as the most popular airline in the Mile High City, it’s crucial for us to maintain modern infrastructure and a top-notch fleet to serve our local employees and customers and provide an exceptional experience,” United CEO Scott Kirby stated in a press release for journalists at the Tuesday briefing. “Our growth in Denver will further enhance our ability to connect customers to destinations worldwide.”
United’s new routes from Denver feature:
- Asheville, North Carolina, starting September 29
- Dayton, Ohio, commencing September 29
- Greensboro, North Carolina, beginning September 29
- Lexington, Kentucky, starting September 29
- San Juan, Puerto Rico, launching October 29
- Montego Bay, Jamaica, beginning November 4
In addition to these new routes, the airline is introducing early morning services (most departing at 6 a.m. or shortly after) to Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas; Las Vegas, Nevada; Los Angeles, California; Orlando, Florida; Phoenix, Arizona; Portland, Oregon; San Diego, California; and Seattle, Washington. Linda Jojo, United's chief customer officer, informed Dinogo that this initiative aims to provide travelers with increased flexibility.
Alongside the new routes and the early 6 a.m. departure schedule, United will also be adding 13 flights to major markets like Austin and Boston. Furthermore, nine markets will receive additional flights, including Honolulu and Santa Fe.
One key factor enabling United to offer more flights this summer is the expansion of concourses. Over the past year, in partnership with Denver International Airport, United has added 20 new gates (in the A and B concourses) and plans to introduce another 12 by next summer.
The added flights and gates are part of United's enhancements in Denver. Over the past year, the airline has launched a new check-in lobby and a grab-and-go concept called United Club Fly. Additionally, this summer, a new lounge will open in the A Concourse, and two revamped clubs will reopen in the B Concourse, one of which will be the largest United Club lounge in the country.
