Virgin Hotels is set to launch in London this August.
Luxury brand Virgin Hotels is preparing for its debut in London later this year.
Virgin Hotels London-Shoreditch will open in August in the vibrant Shoreditch area, marking the brand's eighth hotel. This expansion has been anticipated, as London is the birthplace of Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Group, which includes Virgin Hotels and Virgin Atlantic.
Branson expressed his excitement, stating, "We are thrilled to introduce Virgin Hotels Collection in London; it has always been on our radar as a destination cherished by our customers and where Virgin's journey began."
The new hotel will transform the existing Mondrian London Shoreditch, part of Accor's Ennismore lifestyle collection. The popular Spanish restaurant, BiBo Shoreditch, will remain operational, and guests can enjoy amenities like a rooftop bar, pool, members club, gym, and treatment rooms. The August rebranding will initiate a "gradual transformation" into a full Virgin Hotels experience.
The London expansion allows members of Virgin Hotels' The Know loyalty program and Virgin Red to earn and redeem points at the new hotel. More details regarding the loyalty program will be announced later this year.
Although Virgin Hotels is making its debut in London, the brand already operates a hotel in Edinburgh, Scotland, and has a notable presence in the U.S. with locations in Chicago, New York City, and New Orleans.
While this will be the eighth location for Virgin Hotels, Virgin Hotels London-Shoreditch will be the 17th property in the broader Virgin Hotels Collection, which includes both Virgin Hotels and Virgin Limited Edition — featuring unique retreats such as Necker Island in the Caribbean and Kasbah Tamadot in Morocco.
"This year marks a decade of Virgin Hotels, and we couldn't ask for a better way to kick off the celebrations than by announcing our newest hotel in one of the world's iconic cities," said James Bermingham, CEO of Virgin Hotels Collection, in a statement.
