Waldorf Astoria and the Vignette Collection are introducing new luxury hotel options in Abu Dhabi.

Abu Dhabi features an impressive variety of hotels, yet several prominent brands with extensive loyalty programs are expanding in this capital city.
Both Hilton and IHG have unveiled exciting new initiatives in Abu Dhabi, leading to a number of hotels undergoing rebranding.

The first significant transformation will see the Eastern Mangroves Abu Dhabi Hotel, which was previously an Anantara property, join the Hilton portfolio as the Waldorf Astoria Abu Dhabi. While Waldorf Astoria has locations in other emirates like Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah, this marks its debut in Abu Dhabi. Situated near Abu Dhabi's Mangrove National Park, the hotel will offer 167 rooms and suites, three swimming pools, and a variety of dining options, from a brasserie to a rooftop venue, along with Waldorf's signature Peacock Alley.

In Abu Dhabi, on Yas Island, IHG is partnering with Aldar, a prominent real estate firm in the United Arab Emirates, to merge six hotels in the Yas Plaza Hotels complex into a single resort under the Vignette Collection brand.

Set to open in late next year, the resort, named Straylight Yas within the Vignette Collection, will undergo renovations and conversions of all the individual properties. Straylight Yas will feature over 1,300 rooms, beach access (a first for this complex), dining and retail options, as well as access to a golf course, golf and beach villas, a beach club, and an open-air theater among other amenities.
IHG will also acquire the Tilal Liwa Hotel in Abu Dhabi's Al Dhafra region and rebrand it as a Vignette Collection resort. This property will include 110 rooms and offer tented villas with private pools, three restaurants, and a swimming pool, with a soft-opening planned for later this year and a full launch expected in 2025.
Hilton has a presence in Abu Dhabi with several hotels, including a Hilton-branded property on Yas Island, a Warner Brothers-themed hotel, a Curio Collection hotel, and a Conrad.
IHG operates multiple hotels, featuring brands like InterContinental, Holiday Inn, Staybridge Suites, and Crowne Plaza.
Details on opening dates and rates for these upcoming Abu Dhabi properties are not yet available.
