What occurs at Disney World on the night following Halloween

How much time does your family need to put away Halloween decorations and prepare for the festive season? If you sighed and thought it takes days, weeks, or more, you're likely not alone. The aftermath of Halloween treats can linger for at least a few days. Plus, pumpkins can definitely be enjoyed throughout November, right?
While this may hold true in the outside world, such real-life challenges don’t affect Disney, where enchantment—or at least the appearance of it—continues, even in 2020.

On the night of October 31, Disney cast members perform incredible transformations in the darkness, likely continuing into the early hours of November 1. All signs of jack-o'-lanterns and spooky decorations vanish, replaced by halls at Disney World adorned with festive red and green decorations. Usually, there’s an abundance of red and green embellishments.
Although the autumn holiday decorations at Magic Kingdom were somewhat muted this year, the Christmas decor appears poised to ring in the festive season, as seen in various social media posts.

The expansive Disney World resort will gradually reveal the remainder of its holiday decorations in the upcoming weeks, but traditionally, the Magic Kingdom makes its dramatic seasonal transformation overnight, ready for guests this morning.
In some years, visitors to Disney parks have noted that Christmas music can already be heard on November 1, just a day after Halloween.

To illustrate the scale of this transition, Disney's Magic Kingdom typically features 590 garlands (totaling 5,188 feet), 40 Christmas trees, and 147 wreaths. The tallest tree in all of Disney World, standing at 70 feet, is usually located at Disney's Contemporary Resort, just a monorail ride from the Magic Kingdom.
Transitioning from Halloween to the holiday season is a significant task, requiring the continuous attention of 41 staff members year-round, plus an additional 90 cast members brought in this season to ensure everything is set up (and taken down) swiftly.

Although Disney's usual Christmas celebrations, such as Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, won't be held this year, you can still experience a touch of 2020 holiday magic in Disney World theme parks and resorts. Festive decorations, music, themed mini-parades, treats, and more are all starting right now.
