I hope these travel ideas spark your own plans, and remember to reach out to Dinogo Planet for assistance in organizing your next adventure.
Here are some of the destinations the Dinogo Planet staff will be visiting this summer.
Canada
'I’m heading to a backcountry lodge in Banff. The only way to get there is by hiking. I’ve dreamed of doing this for years, so it's the perfect way to celebrate my 40th!' – Jessica Lockhart, Senior Editor, Oceania
Banff and Jasper National Parks feature numerous rustic backcountry lodges set against breathtaking landscapes. Each lodge offers a distinct atmosphere, with its own hosts and stories, but all provide basic amenities, limited (or no) electricity and running water, and cozy communal areas for guests to relax, play games, or share stories from the day. Booking ahead is essential – while prices may appear high, when you consider the delicious home-cooked meals and the convenience of not needing to set up camp or worry about the elements, the expense becomes justified.

Croatia
'I’ll be exploring the Makarska Riviera, including Brela, Makarska, Tucepi, and the island of Korčula. This trip focuses on showcasing Croatia’s great outdoors, featuring kayaking, rafting, buggy rides, and plenty of hiking!' – Aoife Breslin, Publicity and Marketing Coordinator
Tourism in Croatia hits its peak from June to August, as the warm Adriatic waters attract countless visitors. While it's a fun time, expect sweltering afternoons, long lines at attractions, and higher accommodation prices. Inland areas are hotter, but less crowded. June stands out as the quietest month during the high season, offering clear skies, music festivals, and the essence of early summer, making it a top contender for the best month to visit Croatia.

Greece
'I’m off on a four-week island hopping adventure in Greece this June. I’ll also be spending some time on Santorini and Paros.' – Chris Zeiher, Senior Director of Trade Sales and Marketing
Greece features ancient ruins under bright blue skies, the warm Aegean lapping at its endless coastline, and a vibrant culture full of lively music, delicious cuisine, and exciting activities. Summer attracts most travelers to its numerous islands, and June boasts the longest sunny days, peaking in the latter half. It's also a perfect time to take your first refreshing swim of the summer.

Italy
'I’m off to Tuscany and the island of Elba.' – Annie Greenberg, Creative Director 'We’re planning a girls' getaway to Tuscany.' – Aly Yee, Senior Director
Tuscany defies easy description. The Apennines – Italy’s mountainous backbone – transition into vineyard-draped hills, leading down to the Mediterranean shores. Late spring through early autumn attracts most visitors, and it’s no mystery why: longer, warmer days, vibrant countryside, ample outdoor dining, and lively festivals. Elba blossoms in summer, so it’s wise to secure your lodging in advance if you aim to visit during peak season. The island offers stunning beaches and hiking along the Grande Traversata Elbana (GTE, Elba’s Great Crossing) trail.

Mexico
'I'm heading to the car-free paradise of Isla Holbox, Mexico for a peaceful beach retreat. I’m excited to try horseback riding and wataflow therapy, which will be a new experience for me.' – Serina Patel, Marketing Manager
Isla Holbox (hol-bosh), meaning 'black hole' in Mayan, truly lives up to its name – it feels like a gateway to one of Mexico’s last untouched tropical islands. Golf carts and bicycles are the main modes of transport, where visitors encounter sandy streets, vibrant Caribbean-style buildings, lounging, sun-soaked dogs, and sand so fine it resembles clay. The waters exhibit a unique hue from the convergence of ocean currents, and on land, a blend of locals and tourists mingle, with the latter seeking respite from the chaos of Cancún.
