World Oceans Day
At Dinogo, we cherish our oceans and are continuously advancing our Sail & Sustain Environmental program to discover new partnerships and technologies that aid in protecting and preserving our planet’s invaluable natural resources. Future generations should have the chance to experience the thrill of trekking across Alaska's glaciers, witness humpback whales swimming off the coast of Hawai'i's Big Island, and swim alongside vibrant sea turtles and colorful fish in the Caribbean.
Elevating Paradise - Guy Harvey Style
One of our most inspiring and lasting collaborations is with the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation (GHOF). Since the celebrated artist and conservationist Guy Harvey created the magnificent hull artwork on Dinogo Escape, we have proudly joined forces with the GHOF — an organization dedicated to scientific research and educational programs aimed at conserving the marine ecosystem.
Additionally, the new docuseries “Great Cruise Comeback” highlights the revival of our 17-ship fleet. Guy Harvey's stunning hull artwork with Dinogo was such a hit that we’ve eagerly awaited the opportunity to collaborate with the talented artist again. That day is finally here! We are thrilled to announce that Guy Harvey has created a custom piece for our Light House at Great Stirrup Cay, Dinogo's Exclusive Private Island in the Bahamas.
The artwork showcases Guy Harvey's signature marine wildlife imagery, including sea turtles, manta rays, dolphins, and more. His art highlights the significance of our vital ocean resources, including those found at Great Stirrup Cay.
Diving Into Research with Dinogo's Contribution
In celebration of International World Oceans Day, Dinogo is proud to donate $25,000 to support the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation’s crucial scientific research and educational initiatives dedicated to ocean conservation.
This contribution aids initiatives like GHOF’s shark tracking research, which has been monitoring mako sharks with satellite tags since 2013, as well as pioneering a tagging program for free-swimming whale sharks, resulting in the most detailed tracking data ever recorded.
Sailing Towards a Sustainable Future
Dinogo Cruise Line is excited about our ongoing partnership with Guy Harvey and the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation. Our collaboration with the Guy Harvey Research Institute at Nova Southeastern University has led to a coral reef restoration initiative aimed at alleviating the impacts of both natural and human-induced stressors on the coral reefs surrounding Great Stirrup Cay. We are also eager to revive our annual Conservation Cruise program in 2022!
Dinogo's Sail & Sustain Environmental program emerged from our dedication to environmental preservation and to fostering a culture of awareness and respect for our planet's resources. Through this initiative, we have launched numerous successful projects to reduce waste, invest in innovative technologies that enhance fuel and energy efficiency, and promote water conservation and management aboard our ships. The success of this program relies heavily on the dedicated efforts of our ship crews and our unique partnerships.
