Very good experience at Owl's Nest. Location really nice (close to public transportation and restaurants/shops), rooms are clean (not a lot of places to store your luggages though), bathrooms are too. My 6-bed dorm room was a little noisy because of the AC.There's soap in the showers, toilet paper in the toilets. The staff is nice, even though their English is not always great. There's a pool table you can play for free, tables and chairs so you can eat, a kitchen with a kettle, a microwave, a fridge, and tableware. There are also washing machines (I believe it's 40 bahts per use) and you can leave your belongings at the reception after you check out if you need.Really cheap (6€ per night); don't expect much, just the minimum.

The receptionist basically tells you that if you don't like it you should go to another hotel, no politeness even to say "hello" when you greet her... we are disappointed in her lack of attention

A positive: there's a pool table, and it's cheap. That's about all the positive things I can say about it.The room floor is really dirty and sticky, showers work 50%, staff spoke very poorly English, a big deposit is required, there's a lot of noise during the night (some sort of aggregate made a lot of noice and vibrations that I felt in bed 😬).For western standards: you get (less) than you paid for. I paid about 6 euro per night, and felt it 😅.

I gave an objective review at booking dot com but I'm not sure why it didn't come out so why not do it here. I'm a backpacker who has stayed in countless hostels around Thailand and many other countries so I have quite a comparison.Pros:The location is in a quiet neighborhood. There's a convenience store nearby to buy your basic needs. It's also very close to Phom Phrong BTS Station, just around 600 meters and about 200-300 meters away from Philippine Embassy. You get your key card for the room. There's a kitchen with water heater for boiling and microwave available.Cons:I originally booked at S30 but when I arrived, they made me stay on this hostel because according to the receptionist, they have the same owner. So I just went along with it.Arrived at my bed with hair strands all over and smelled like it wasn't changed. I was too tired so I just laid there. However, I cannot tolerate the smell of the pillow so I had it changed. It's quite disgusting to be honest. I was sure the beddings weren't changed as I'm very particular to things like this. The bunk beds are excruciatingly difficult to climb on to. No hand rails for support. So if you're not careful, trust me you're gonna hurt yourself like seriously. If you're 6 feet above, this ain't for you. I am 5'9" and it's just right for me. The showers looked like they are not being attended to. 2 cubicles with heaters you can't adjust so be careful its scorching hot. The other 2, well, enjoy the cold shower. In conclusion, it's a decent accommodation to stay for a night but that's just about it. With the price, I've stayed with hostels around Bangkok with more competitive service and amenities. With the tough competition of hostel accommodations around Bangkok, they should do better.

Last year I passed by and saw the ruins of MonkeyNaps.I accidentally saw on booking that it has become Owls (Monkey is still cute)The location is very convenientThe price is very cheapAlthough there are still many places under constructionWhat's surprising is that they also have a night counter. It's quite common for youth hostels in Bangkok not to have a night counter. So I'm a little surprised that Cheap Hotel also has a night counter.Although the staff is different every time I go there, one time I was surprised that there were also Filipinos? !It’s good that the hotel has been resurrected. There may be more people there in the future. I feel a little nostalgic for the days when many people used computers in front of desks. It feels like I’m back in my student days.
