Sabai sabai are small bungalows on the seafront, a 10-minute walk from the pier where boats from Ranong and Chang arrive. Green well-groomed area. Everywhere there are comfortable bean bag chairs, mattresses, sun loungers and even a small “observation terrace” - everything to contemplate the sea in comfort and peace. In the evenings, amazing lighting turns on throughout the entire territory; candles are lit at the tables on the beach. The beach is very good - a wide strip of yellow soft sand in the shade of spreading trees. The sea is somewhat cloudy and the bottom is muddy, especially at low tide. But the low tides here are not as strong as on Long Beach - you can swim without any problems. In the mornings, when the tide brings a lot of garbage ashore, the beach is cleaned up in no time. Volunteers from among the guests, many of whom are families with small children, often help clean the beach. Despite the large number of children, it is very calm: children play peacefully on the beach - no fights, no screams. The hotel is sensitive to nature: filters are installed for sewage (purified water is used for irrigation), separate waste collection is organized, and disposable tableware is not used, including plastic straws for drinks.Yoga and/or meditation courses are offered every morning (January 2024) for a small fee. A good Thai massage is organized a couple of times a week (400 baht/hour). In the high season, you can rent a SUP, and in the off-season, when the waves come, you can go surfing. The hotel has a small restaurant, although the menu contains more European dishes than Thai ones. At the reception you can replenish drinking water, tea or coffee for a small fee.The houses range from primitive small bamboo huts without amenities (toilet and shower in the yard) to spacious monolithic bungalows with air conditioning. When booking, you need to be more careful: a house with a sea view is a bungalow on the second line. If you want to live on the first line, you need to choose a “bungalow on the beach”.The Laos house, which was purchased in January 2024, although located on the second line, boasts a good view of the sea from the terrace. The conditions are simple, one might say, Spartan - a small room with a bed under a mosquito net (they gave us one blanket for two. Small. Without a duvet cover. I can’t imagine why I didn’t ask you to bring another one 😅😅), in the corner there is a bookcase where you can place things , and a railing with clothes hangers. All!There is only one outlet (and no, not next to the bed), but there is an extension cord with a 4th adapter. Since a power plant appeared on the island 6 years ago, electricity has been available around the clock, but apparently there is not enough capacity yet (or the hotel’s power grid is rather weak) - one can only dream of a kettle and a refrigerator. There is a fan.The living part of the bungalow is on stilts, and the shower room and toilet are located at ground level. A rather steep staircase leads to the amenities. You need to be careful, especially after taking a shower - it can be very slippery. There is no water heater, and one is not needed - during the day the water quickly heats up from the sun. There is no daily cleaning or change of towels at the hotel - this is warned in advance. If you need to remove/change linen/towels, just ask the hotel staff. The staff is very friendly and ready to help. You can rent a moped at the hotel. If there are not enough “own” bikes, they will bring them from a nearby restaurant. Price: 150 - 250 baht/day.To sum it up - a great place for a minimalistic, relaxed holiday.
