Relaxed spot with huts of variing comfort and price. Quiet area, direct at the great beach, good restaurant, helpful and pleasant people. Lot of surfing and SUP equipment available. Go there.

A wonderful place with incredibly lovely hosts. Our bungalow has a very beautiful sea view, you fall asleep in the evening with the sound of the sea and wake up with the most beautiful view in the world.Tee also looked after us very well in advance and organized transport and speedboat tickets.The food is served very fresh and delicious in the in-house restaurant, where you can sit very comfortably and enjoy the fantastic sunset.The family is on site all day from early in the morning, always approachable and very friendly.You feel very at home, today we spent three hours on the scooter and were happy when we were back.

Great value for money. Some of the huts are a bit old, but they are still easy to live in. The huts are not completely closed, the mattresses in the huts are sometimes more comfortable, sometimes less comfortable. The owners are very friendly, you feel very welcome here and the restaurant is very good. Clear recommendation.Thank you for the pleasant stay!

We spent three weeks there. It's a really lovely place. The owner, a friendly couple, and also two young ladys who work there are very friendly and obliging.There are hens, chicks and roosters, a slack line and also surfboards you can rent. The money goes to the kids who take car of it (and by the way they know how to surf. Impressive to watch).The bungalows themselves are clean, directly at the beach and you can choose between different price ranges (depending on AC, distance to the sea, etc).I will definitely stay there again when I'm back. 😊

We ate here in the evening and unfortunately were very disappointed, the papaya and cucumber salad was good, but the Pad Thai was totally tasteless, without soybeans and vegetables, the red curry was diluted with water and tasted of nothing, you had the impression that it was Owners have to save money, when we asked for fish sauce and vinegar we were given small tear-open packages, very environmentally conscious... the light on the terrace was reminiscent of an airport hall and the menu was totally reduced in size compared to previous years...

Beautiful bungalows on the beach with friendly operators and a beautiful sunset terraceLocation:The Hornbill is located directly on Aow Yai Beach. You can also see the sea from the detached bungalows in the second row. The sound of the sea can be heard from everywhere. The beach is ideal for a long walk along the beach.Furnishing:Beautiful, detached bungalows with a veranda and hammock. Inside with mosquito net and separate bathroom (open air). The Beach Front Bungalows are still worth the extra charge because you can enjoy the sunset at Aow Yai from the hammock. Many chickens and chicks run around the facility all day long.Restaurant:Beautiful wooden terrace with sea views. The boss himself cooks delicious food (The Massaman Curry is highly recommended). The Thai food is without exception delicious. In the rainy season, the boss makes really effective anti-sandflies oil from the coconuts.Operator:Tee and her husband are very friendly and helpful. No matter what you need, they are there. Tickets for onward travel are also available via tea.

Absolutely lovely Thai couple running Hornbill and outstanding Thai cuisine. They have a wide variety of Bungalows, from basic to luxurious and they're all naturally built in a village type of fashion within the natural surroundings. Hornbill has an amazing terrace from where to watch the sunsets of Ao Yai beach. Their prices are very moderate compared to other bungalow resorts in the area. The owners of Hornbill are very relaxed people who make everyone comfortable. And they are very committed and generous to their community on the island so staying there is also doing good.

My family and I have stayed at Hornbil 10 Days in December 2019. We loved our time here and will stay again and again.The food is amazing everytime.The service is friendly and the owners and staff are extremely helpful.Sunset on the deck is a must and do not let the Vegan ice cream man go past without trying it.
