I stayed in a bungalow for 8 nights and had a great experience.Becky, my dive instructor, was THE BEST. I did my open water course and then went on to also do my advanced. She was patient, friendly and made me feel so at ease in the water. All of the other instructors I came across whilst on the dive boats were just as lovely. They take safety very seriously and I felt at ease for my entire course.The room was also great, for what I paid. The room was clean and bottled water was provided every day. The mosquito net on the door didn't close properly so there were a couple of bugs in the room. Not ideal but it didn't cause any problems. Having to wait for them to check your room on check out is something I have never experienced before, however it only took 10 minutes and I was grateful for the free transfer to the pier.The restaurant was great! I ate here at all times throughout my trip and had great food served every time. On my last day, the restaurant closed for renovations. I believe it is due to be closed for about a month.Overall, it was a great experience from start to finish and I look forward to coming backPS: The sunset is INCREDIBLE

Did my advanced open water at Sairee Cottage Diving with Toni recently and can only give my best recommendations. He was a fantastic, patient instructor who made the whole experience super enjoyable and safe, including teaching us some underwater photography techniques. I also did some amazingly relaxing fun dives with Emmy who is also a first rate instructor. Rooms are decent and reasonable value for money, and the location is fantastic. 9.5/10.

ROOM: Fan Bungalow with Double Bed - 5 daysI was really looking forward to my 4-night stay at Sairee Cottage but sadly the accommodation, though cheap, was subpar and seeing the island, other cottages/huts and housing were available for the same price and better quality. Our bungalow had a really strong pee smell that was really unpleasant but more than anything, anywhere we looked things were falling apart. Mosquito nets that wouldn’t close properly, tiles falling off.. it just looked as though the place hadn’t been given some TLC in a really long time. The bed was also very uncomfortable as it’s a wooden base with a very very thin mattress topper. Lastly, we weren’t informed that we wouldn’t be allowed to leave upon check-out until our room was checked by staff. Totally fine if this is their policy, I just would’ve liked to have known beforehand as it took us by surprise. If you have a tight schedule an 15-20 mins wait could be the difference between catching your ferry or not, and any imperfections from the room could cost around 1000 thb.

A great place to stay! The staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are simple but comfortable, very clean with everything that you need. The dive centre offers amazing trips with skilled divemasters that work hard to ensure that you have a great and safe dive. The staff go the extra mile to ensure that you have a great experience! This is my second time staying/diving and won't be the last!

I recently completed both my PADI Open water and Advanced open water scuba diving certifications at Sairee cottage diving school at the end of September 2024. I can hands down say it was one of the most incredible experiences of my life to date. This was positively enhanced by my incredible instructor Hannah!From the word go during the Open water course, Hannah showed her deep passion for diving and this shone through by the way she teaches in the classroom, pool session and during the ocean dives. Hannah made safety the number one priority of every dive which made me feel at ease and safe throughout my total of 9 dives. She explained everything clearly and preciously before undertaking each dive. This made any of my nerves disappear before the dives.I did not have the intention of completing my Advanced open water scuba diving certification in the beginning however, the positive and infectious enthusiasm from Hannah made me want to complete the course to further enhance my buoyancy and navigation skills and to enable me to become an overall better diver for future dives.Hannah’s interest in the aquatic wildlife was infectious! She presented a clear PowerPoint explaining the key differences in identifying particular groups of fish. This really aided my experience under water by knowing what fish we were looking at even when sketching them underwater!! We always had a debrief of the aquatic wildlife we observed after each dive which really helped and it gave me a chance to note them down in my diving logbook to look back on in the future.I truly believe my experience at Sairee cottage diving school would not have been the same if it wasn’t for Hannahs guidance! Hannah, thank you for all of your helpful tips, being patient with me throughout both courses, answering my endless list of questions, my questionable underwater navigation at times and making my diving courses at Sairee cottage an adventure I’ll never forget!I cannot recommend Hannah enough as an instructor if you are looking to either begin your PADI open water course or further enhance your diving skills with the advanced open water diving courses.

Absolutely top-notch experience during my stay here.The rooms were extremely comfortable and cozy... the restaurant offers a large variety of foods from western to Thai along with impeccable service from the smiley staff.Last but not least my scuba diving experience here was by far the best in Thailand... They also have their own compressor room which specializes in making the cleanest air the industry has to offer. Machinery imported from Germany! Even some of the other dive schools actually source their air from here.The owner Trevor personally spoke to me and made me feel extremely welcome at this oasis on Koh Tao.I'll be back!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The most comfortable bed I have slept in on my entire trip to Thailand, clean rooms but with the occasional small ant and mosquitoes coming in… you have a mosquito net on the door and window, however they don't close very well.The restaurant facing the sea is very top with a lot of variety to eat.The location is “average” depending on where you move, it is a little far or close, depending on your interests.They only have free transfer to the pier at certain times with little variety… if you have to leave at 7:00 AM you will have to pay an additional 200 baht per person…

I recently had the pleasure of going for scuba diving certification, and I can confidently say it was one of the most incredible experiences of my life! From start to finish, everything was top-notch, but what truly made the experience unforgettable was my instructor, Emmy.I went for the Advanced Open Water & Deep Dive certifications, both of which were conducted by the same wonderful instructor @ Sairee Cottage during the last week of August 2024.Emmy is an exceptional instructor with a deep passion for diving, and it really shows in the way she teaches. Her knowledge and expertise are unparalleled, making me feel completely safe and at ease throughout the entire dive. As someone who had a bit prior experience with diving, her calm and patient demeanor was incredibly reassuring. She explained every detail clearly and made sure I was comfortable with each step before moving on.Despite some minor issues that happened during our third day of dives, she was able to calmly navigate me through the course, and keep me on track with safety protocols in mind. She accurately pointed out the errors later on, which was super helpful for me to take corrective actions.But it wasn't just about safety – Emmy also made the dive so much fun! Her enthusiasm was infectious, and her ability to point out and explain the marine life & wreck we encountered made the experience even more special. I learned so much from her, and I truly appreciated her guidance.If you're looking for an unforgettable scuba diving experience with an instructor who is not only highly skilled but also genuinely cares about her students, I can't recommend Emmy enough. Thank you for being patient with me & making my dive an adventure I'll never forget!I am looking to join the Sairee family again next year for more dives :) 💚

Check out September 6, 2024."My stay at the hostel started in a confusing way. I made my reservation the night before, but when I arrived in the morning, I called the emergency number and the person who answered me, who was supposed to be the manager, had an unpleasant tone. I It indicated that the keys were out front, but in the restaurant that had not yet opened, which left me quite confused. Finally, the person in charge of the reception appeared and handed me the keys.I liked the bungalows and, in general, the price was reasonable. The cabins were clean and equipped, with access to two pools and the beach, as well as a good restaurant. Everything was going well until I had an accident: I slipped on a staircase and hurt my legs. I cured myself, but the problem came on the day of check-out. My room had not been cleaned in four days, partly due to my mistake, and when I went to check out, it was an hour before my boarding. I explained my situation to the front desk attendant, named Kitty, but she told me I had to wait for them to check the room.The cleaning person found sheets stained with blood, probably from the accident, and they told me I had to pay for them. I offered to pay for the cleaning, but they insisted that I had to pay for new sheets, about 1000 baht (27 euros). The situation became tense, as they withheld my passport, something I consider illegal. The manager, in addition to yelling at me, wrapped my passport in the dirty sheets. Finally, thanks to the tranquility maintained by another person who came, I paid and, after many discussions, they returned my passport. As a joke, the manager even reduced the surcharge they charged me at the end, saying it was to see what kind of review I would leave.This person's attitude was unacceptable, especially after how good I had felt during the previous days at the hostel. It is unfortunate that a good stay ends in such an unpleasant way. "It's my first time booking with Agoda and this was my experience.".

Wonderful place; we're already dreaming of coming back!We stayed at Sairee Cottage in July 2024 while we completed the PADI Open Water Course at Sairee Cottage Diving. Both the hotel and diving centre are phenomenal and we highly recommend it.The hotel:We stayed in a bungalow close to the main pool (by the diving school), reception and main walking street by the beach. Despite being close to these, we were never bothered by loud noises. The hotel staff were welcoming, very friendly and service-oriented. The rooms, streets and pools at the hotel were cleaned everyday. The bungalows were charming, simple and had everything we needed. Our bungalow was 1 minute away from Sairee beach, in our opinion the best beach we experienced during our trip to Koh Tao and Koh Samui. The beach is like a picture perfect postcard. The pools were great as well, with clean new pool towels whenever we requested them. The hotel arranges pick up and transport to and from the main pier. (PS: you need to pay a fee when entering the pier at Koh Tao when arriving by ferry, before you can leave the pier. We weren't aware of this :) ) The hotel doesn't offer complimentary breakfast, but it is served at Sairee Cottage Restaurant (our favourite restaurant in Koh Tao) right across the street. The reception has a locked room where it is possible to keep your luggage if you arrive early or need to store it until departure when you check out. Be mindful to remove your shoes when entering the reception :)The diving course:We highly recommend the diving course at Sairee Cottage Diving. We did PADI Open Water, which is a 3 day course. Our wonderful instructor, Kayli, was very professional, kind, positive and made us feel safe during the dives and lessons. There is "homework" between sessions (expect to spend some hours during the evening on this), but this was really worth it when it came to the overall price, experience and amount of days to spend on the course. Everything is organized, from lessons, to equipment and transfer to and from the pier when diving in the ocean. The staff at the diving school are friendly and kind, and overall there is agreat atmosphere at the Diving school.

Sairee Cottage ended up being the highlight of our two months in Asia. We originally signed up to do our Padi Open Water and loved it so much we extended our stay to do our Advanced Open Water (and came very close to just staying on Koh Tao and diving for the rest of our trip).This was all predominantly because of our coaches, Nick and Elijah. Nick was the nicest guy to dive with, as well as knowledgeable, knowing pretty much everything there was to know about being under the ocean, especially when it came to invertebrates and all things squishy. Elijah was also always there to hype you up or reasure you in more stressful spots. Both of them helped me deal with a panic under the water due to some bad diving conditions, and because of their reassurance, I stuck with the dives, and I'm so glad I did.Thank you both, as well as the rest of the Sairee Cottage team, for an amazing time and for making us lifelong divers. Can't wait to come back and try to see "a big fish" this time!

I've been to Sairee Cottage multiple times and can only highly recommend it!I did my Open Water with Emmy in June, and she made me feel very comfortable with scuba diving. It was a very good start for my scuba journey, and I've been back to Sairee Cottage for diving every month since then.I've had multiple different instructors and guides, and I've been very pleased with all of them. Everyone is highly professional, kind, and helpful.I love the facilities at Sairee Cottage, and how convenient it is to book both my diving and accommodation together (plus you get a discount on the room when diving with them!). Their dive boat is big and comfortable, which is definitely a bonus!During my multiple stays, I've seen divers of all levels and backgrounds having a good experience. I have and will continue to recommend Sairee Cottage Diving to anyone planning to go diving in Koh Tao 💚

Quite nice room, only a shame that the toilet is under the shower and there is little ventilation in the shower.Friendly staff, free taxi service back to the Pier.The hotel restaurant which overlooks the beach is nice with low tables and beanbags just above the beach

I redid the open water course with my partner after first doing it here back in 2016. Both the instructors (Emmy & Elijah) were fantastic, they were both extremely knowledgeable and their passion for diving was contagious. The dive sites were all incredible and they took great care to ensure we had the best possible experience and felt as relaxed as possible the whole way through. Best part of our vacation by far.

Great location. Hotel is clean and well maintained. The front reception staff are unfriendly, almost rude.Being certified divers, our intention was to do some dives. The divers around the pool did not acknowledge us or tried to engage, we ended up having to go the seashells dive shop next door, where we were treated to a warm and friendly fun filled dive.The Pool had a bar, but we did not patronize it, due to the constant smell of pot. The Restaurant was well located on the seafront, was expensive with mundane food.Koh Tao, is a beautiful Island, would recommend a visit, but highly discourage using this low energy depressing location.We were also forced to upgrade to a bungalow with air conditioning, at over twice the cost. Travelling through SE Asia in 35 C, A/C has always been a given.
