The lady at reception was always very friendly and helpful. He helped us buy train tickets to Vang Vieng. It's a basic guesthouse but with everything you need. Thanks for the friendliness of the lady in charge and the quality/price ratio. We had stayed one night in another hotel that was more expensive and in worse condition. So it was a good experience! We didn't hear any noise from the street or other rooms (we went a week ago during low season).

Hotel well located and not expensive, but those are the only positive points.The cleanliness is really not up to par, the bathroom was very dirty, it must have been a very long time since it was cleaned (we couldn't even see through the mirror because it was so dirty).We found a cockroach in our room.The staff is cold and rude. As we leave we thank them and say goodbye: no response...Ok for 1 night but no more!

First stop after the border for me, nice lady running the hostel. I appreciate that I was able to pay with card on Agoda for a little over $9 since I lost my atm card the day before crossing… a bit cheaper at 200k to book in person.The lady was friendly and offers food, a mini store, and exchanges money for you. She offered me 620 Kip/baht when I asked, you can get a bit more if you wait until Luang Prabang but it’s still higher than the posted exchange rate on Google!The rooms here are SOO big, or at least the halls are connecting them. The only issue we had was the internet did not reach room 203 so Everytime I had to walk downstairs for the Wi-Fi but it’s only one night and it’s cheap so whatever!Also the bathroom had some flies in there when we came but I just sprayed them down quickly so didn’t bother me.She charges 430k for boat ticket + tuk tuk. I opted to save the 30k and book at the pier but turns out the seats actually do matter the first day so maybe book here since she told us she can pick the seats.Would come again, cute town!

1km from the slowboat quay. It's easy to book transportation and a take-out breakfast.The bathroom door doesn't close but my wife is beautiful so it's fine that way.

Located on a nice street with a supermarket, several restaurants, a rooftop bar and a massage parlor. Room is spacious and clean and very quiet. The staff is very nice and helpful, when something went wrong with my slowboat booking, the receptionist sorted everything out for me within 5 minutes and made sure I could come along. Incredibly nice and I was very, very grateful.

Cheap guesthouse (walk-in price at 200,000 kip per night excluding breakfast) that's popular with foreign backpackers. The owner is lovely and the location is right along the tourist street. However, the rooms are very tired, with creaky beds. I thought the room was clean enough, until a cockroach and ants showed up in the bathroom last night.

1.The girl in the reception lied about ways to get to Luang Prabang, she said the only option was slow boat, 2 days 1 night or tuk tuk, minivan then train. Those where the option her Hotel were selling.When I asked her about the fast boat option "8 hours" she said there were none. I found out two hours after I booked the train that she was lying. When I asked her about it she was being weird about it. Telling me I couldn't check the other option that she would cancel my trip right away, I asked her to wait 10 minutes untill I was sure I could take the fast boat option but she said either she cancel it now or I keep it. It was an obvious trick.2. Cold shower, heater not working.3. Dirty room, someones old trimmed hair everywhere in the bathroom.4. A generator or something sounding, on and off outside my window..5. Bad bedsPositive: It was pretty cheap.

This is really small town so not much choice of places to stay.The room was quite dirty although the bed was clean. The whole town is very noisy so bring earplugs.On a positive note it was just over the road from where the border crossing van drops you off.Breakfast was included and they also offer sandwiches to take away for you to take on the boat.They didn't take Visa (the machine was 'broken') so make sure you exchange enough currency to Kip to cover your costs as you cross the border.

For the price, it’s one of the best places to stay in town. The owners were incredibly accommodating. I would definitely stay here again. Rooms had AC, were clean, and the breakfast was great.

A wonderful guesthouse! The owner is so helpful with any plans you want to make. We left bags here while we went further north for a few days, came back and booked the slow boat for the next morning and had great seats. The rooms are simple and comfortable and it is in a great location.

Well located with shops and restaurants in the immediate vicinity. Very nice hostess. Slowboat can be booked directly. Food too. SIM cards are also available around the corner. Probably significantly more expensive (still affordable) than in Luang Prabang.However, our room took some getting used to. Clammy, quite musty smell. Unfortunately not really clean and stains on the bed sheets. There also seem to be very positive reports, but at least we don't think so much about the rooms. For one night it's just fine. We had a triple room on the ground floor. Maybe the rooms higher up aren't so damp.The rating is mainly due to the very nice, helpful and well-organized hostess/reception. Thank you very much for that.

We booked a room in this guesthouse because the overall ratings were very pleasant. However, the ratings are completely misleading in this case. Our room turned out to be very dirty. We found tracings of rat feces in the bathroom. On top of that there were blood stains on the wall next to the fan, as well as one medium size blood stain on the sheets. The only positive side of this stay was that the guesthouse host was nice and helpful in arranging the slowboat for us. Nevertheless, would not recommend staying at this place.

Great value for money place to stay in huay xai. The owner was very friendly and spoke good English. She also made lovely breakfast and different lunches for thoes going on the slow boat. Also one of the best coffies I've ever had.
