Like most Anantara they have an amazing advertisement and a great PR team where photos and their Instagram representation look out of this world but unfortunately like all Anantara the reality does not match at all with the picture perfect adverts and that is the same at the Golden Triangle resort. The location, experience to sleep in the bubble with the elephants and the kindness of the staff is exceptional but the resort is so run down and the rooms are really old and sadly to say kind of shabby and sad looking plus humid, dark, no privacy between bedroom and bathroom. Those have to be upgraded urgently. The other disappointment was the walk with giants was not exclusive but with a shared group. For the price of the experience that should be a private event for a couple and not a shared experience like we could have done everywhere in Thailand. We were not informed that it is a shared group event... The jungle bubble experience was lovely, so romantic to spend the night under the rain. The outdoor space should have some covered area where one can sit even when it is raining and have dinner. The bathroom has no privacy neither in the rooms nor in the bubble. The private spa was amazing in the middle of the nature as well as the dinner by the rice paddy where we were welcomed by the elephants, amazing experience and the private chef she cooked a fantastic meal. We loved the hike and our guide was absolutely great, he showed us so much. The concept should be a bit more exclusive so guests can be by themselves and not in a group with others... The concept is fantastic though and the nature, rivers, jungle and romantic misty weather is so beautiful and calming.
