Honesty I haven't been back to my home town in a few years. But based on the most recent review look like it's still open for business. I think this is the 1st hotel I ever stayed in with my mom when I was still a kid, and let's say 30 years later I still go back and stay there. It's the cheapest place in town and really great location. Yes, it's old. I do miss the restaurant downstairs. The last several times I've been back it's no longer opened. For 200 baht or so a night, you can't expect it to be 5star. If you want something cheap and decent in the center of town then this is it but if you're expecting modern and new this is not a place for you. This is definitely great for backpackers or someone who's on a budget. In Jan 2024 it's still open for business but only room on 2nd floor is in operation. It's 5 to 10 minutes walking distance to important places such as train station, clock tower, day and night market. They do not have online booking so you just have to show up and book. You can also buy tickets to different Island around Trang through here.

It's a very nostalgic hotel. The accommodation fee was 200 baht! Of course it's a private room. There's no wifi, TV, air conditioner, or hot water, but although it's old, it seems like it's been well maintained, so it's not dirty. The owner, who looks like Takuzo Kadono, is a friendly and nice person. However, my setta went missing in one of the rooms, and when I looked for it, I couldn't find it, and just when I had given up thinking that Pea had played a prank on me, it came out wrapped in a sheet. I had one beer, but I don't think I was that drunk...

It's close to the station, and prices start from 200 parts! The room is quite spacious and there are about three electrical outlets, so it's a pass for a budget hotel!

The front desk was so old and dark that I thought it had been demolished. |I didn't meet anyone inside the hotel as no one was staying there. …

No other hotels can beat Koteng Hotel by its cost performance, which is 200 baht per night and has a spacious room enough. One of my best hotels in Thailand.

Mixed feelings about the place. The fact that is SO cheap, makes you ignore the reality of this place which could be the perfect set for the next Saw movie. We were on the 4th floor and it was quiet, the fan was perfect and surprisingly there wasn't even a fly in the room. The problem is the cleanliness. I'll put it straight. It doesn't exist. Our toilet had urine stains on it, the furniture had dust from back in the 60's and the bed was thr cherry on top. But again, surprisingly there were no bed bugs or crawlers so I have to say that if you're not big on cleanliness than by al means go for it.
