Highly recommended for climbing at Crazy Horse. Malila is the best host and so kind! It feels like staying with a friend. We’ve stayed here twice while climbing at Crazy Horse. Comfy aircon units, a kitchen, and bikes available to get to the great local market down the street and 7-11. The attached kitchen is perfect for cooking up things you bring back from the market. The crag is a 10 minute walk. For a down day take the bikes to the hot springs! Crazy horse is awesome tufa, face climbing, and wild caving with no crowds.

We stayed for a short week to climb Crazy Horse Buttress, located 15-20 minutes away on foot.Malila is an incredibly kind and accommodating host.Possibility of renting bicycles or scooters on site. Small supermarket 800m away with laundromat and restaurant for breakfast just behind.Basic rooms but with everything you need.Roosters crowing at night (like everywhere in Asia!) and a school next door, which can make noise from 7 a.m. in the morning (we get used to it).No meals offered on site but shared kitchen and restaurant nearby (more accessible with a scooter than on foot).

Stayed here for 3 night whiles climbing at crazy horse! Was perfect, quiet place to stay. Malila is super kind and available for any questions about the area. She went out of her way to help us manage our transportation around Mae on. She has bikes to borrow which makes it quick to get to the market and store. Nice shared kitchen to use which hasn’t been common for us in Thailand but is appreciated for the option of cooking your own food! Hot water, good air con, wifi, free water, fridge, everything you need! Thanks Malila!

Malila Homestay is the perfect place to stay if you want to have a cozy home whilst staying in Mae On for some days to climb. Malila the host is a gem. She gives you bikes to go to the market /supermarket. Or a plate with watermelon after a long day upon your return. The rooms are basic, but all you need: double bed, shower, bathroom and a shared kitchen. We'll come back. Thanks Malila.

We stayed here for 10 days and loved the experience. As rock climbers we had everything we needed. It was a nice 20 minute walk to the crazy horse crag and a 5 minute bike ride to the local markets. Malila had three bikes available for us to use. Malila is a very lovely lady and she added so much character to our stay. Including teaching us some Thai language, teaching us how to cook her favourite dishes, and gifting us bananas. I highly recommend staying here and visiting her bubble tea shop is a must!

Amazing place to stay. And the best host! Malila is the place to stay if you’re climbing at crazy horse. Functional kitchen, bikes to ride to the market to get food and washing done, and just an all around amazing host! Also the best value place around if you’re climbing. We walked to the crag everyday and it was the closest accomodation to the crag. Highly recommend and will be back.

Malila has only 2 rooms with private bathroom which are located in its garden. We have access to an outdoor kitchen and it offers us water and coffee in the morning. She is adorable, really caring. The rooms are located 600 m from the entrance to crazy horse, ideal for climbers, there are many restaurants around, a 7eleven is 800 m away. Malila also has a very cute roadside cafe. The only small problems: the school is right next door and there are no glass windows (only mosquito nets) so it can be very noisy. There is hot water but it doesn't work very well (but hey, it's rather anecdotal given the climate)
