As its name indicates, it is a pearl nestled at the end of the splendid Cheloklum in the middle flows a river, all surrounded by a lush jungle.I recommend

We stayed in this hotel for 7 days in August. Contrary to some comments, we didn't find that the staff was unfriendly. They were friendly and nice. I think it's more or less due to the language barrier. But what was missing was the warmth we otherwise experienced on our travels through Thailand. In the Red Pearl you have a more pragmatic attitude towards the guests. Maybe that's what's bothering you. Our rooms (we had 2) were clean and cleaned every day. The towels are changed every 2 days, which is actually not enough for me given the climate. There were also no “small” towels in the bathroom for hands or shaving. What also surprised us is that no limescale cleaners appeared to have been used. I think this might bother some people because the look isn't nice. There is a restaurant that is unfortunately only open until around 9 p.m. It's actually a shame because we often would have liked to have a beer or a cocktail later in the evening after our tours. As some other guests have mentioned, we think a scooter is important. The town center is close but cannot be reached directly at high tide as there is a river between the hotel and town and this can only be forded at low tide. The alternative footpath is steep and almost unlit. The march lasts about 20 minutes in one direction. If you want to take a taxi to the town with 4 people, expect to pay 100 Bath per person in each direction. The dinner quickly becomes 800 Bath more expensive. This should always be included in the bill. In principle, the taxi costs on the island are far too expensive...regardless of whether it's Ko Samui, Ko Pangahn, or Ko Thao...but we know that.Swimming on the hotel beach is not possible and you can only go to the main beach at low tide to swim in the sea. The beach section is nice for sunbathing and also has enough loungers. The pool was clean. You should also check the advertised “Best Price” from the boat service at the hotel, as the trip to Bottlebeach was offered to us for half the price at the taxi-boat beach near the Malibu Hotel.Breakfast is good and appropriate for the price. You can order “a la carte” (no buffet)Conclusion:The hotel is priced accordingly and didn't surprise us negatively or positively. We would definitely not come back as there are better alternatives nearby that, in my opinion, offer more and have easy access to the town and the beach.

We booked 3 nights. The lock of the house was off its hinges but could still be locked. Air conditioning in bedrooms. Catered. Cleaning service, unclear how to get clean towels. Not a problem in itself because we stayed 3 nights. There are 3 dogs running loose from the hotel. There is a path to the village, but be careful, it passes a private domain with 4 aggressive dogs. 1 of them bit my husband. The road to the village is more like 20 minutes and quite uphill (or downhill ;)). We ate in the restaurant a number of times, very tasty and good price... you can't help but laugh. You can only count on sufficient time to wash (1 day and a half before it was ready). They will arrange a taxi that can take you to and from places, the driver was friendly and could smile. Personally, we would book elsewhere next time.

The room: very spacious. The bathroom: spacious. LESS THE SHOWER. You touched your head to the ceiling in the shower area. In fact there was a hand held shower and a rain shower from above. Either you are 1.70m tall or you cannot use that option. It's super low. The same sink. You lose your back because it is so low. The mirror reflects your belly.Staff: upon arrival, friendly saying that we can enter earlier but that's where the kindness ended. ZERO explanation of how to go to town. Zero explanation of towels for the pool (they leave them, but we had to ask). They didn't even show us the wifi password. Fatal. The first day when I returned the pool towel, I had a bad face. I noticed a lot of apathy. The hotel: it is “close” but alerted to the Chaloklum town. There are two options- or you walk across the river and arrive at the town in 5 minutes (valid option if the tide is low, of course, we don't know how safe it was to cross it, no one informed us)- or you go down a road that is SCARY at night and dogs came out barking loudly and we had to go with flashlights. During the day it's fine, but of course... if you have dinner in town you come back at night. The pool: dirty, a lot of chlorine and there were stones in it… neglected. The hotel beach: it is the mouth of a river through which boats circulate. It's not the best idea... but next door is the town beach (remember how to go to town)Car or motorcycle to see the island, if not... you stay in the town and nothing else. We took a boat taxi to Bottle beach for 400 bths round trip for 2 people. It's worth it if you're going to stay more than a day.

The location is not easy to access without a motorcycle or car, but the facilities are really good. The swimming pool is spacious and it's great to see the sunset at the beach.

I'm here currently and staying at the Red Pearl for 13 nights. It's absolutely beautiful here, I cannot fault it at all. I would stay here again without hesitation ❤️ ... I would recommend hiring either a scooter or a car, as the walk into town on the roads is a very steep one, although I know there is a separate path been made but I haven't used that as I have a scooter, which I hired from the reception for a very reasonable rate. Food here is delicious too, as are the rooms/bungalows... 5*****

Booked this place to see if it’s comfortable to bring my cat in the future - yes they are pet friendly as in cats and dogs friendly.I love that the room I was given was really spacious and comfortable. It’s on a hill so it has some privacy to it even if there are 2 other rooms beside me. The place is pretty big and it looks well maintained. Happy to know that this place allows you to bring your pet.My only concerns were the following:1. No street light heading to the resort. Considering it’s up/downhill drive, this is essential.2. The dirt road heading to the resort. I arrived at night time so this was really a surprise for me aside from the no street light. It can be annoying to drive on it. Especially when it’s raining.3. The water pressure on my room was kinda weak. Was worried every time I was taking a shower.Other than that, it was good.Tip: you either have your own transportation or you are comfortable to ride a bike and rent do so, because the location of this place is not a walking distance from close by restaurants or convenient stores (takes about 1km)
