The Jaiyen Eco Resort on Koh Yao Noi is a wonderful retreat. Overnight stays in the extraordinary cocoons, which fit perfectly into nature, offer a wonderful view of the sea, which is rewarded with a beautiful sunset every evening. The cool pool, which is cleaned every morning, is ideal for a refreshing break. The breakfast is varied and delicious - whether pancakes, muesli with fruit or a Thai option, there is something for every taste. The iced coffee and iced Thai tea are particularly recommended. It's easy to rent a scooter on site, which makes exploring the island enjoyable. The entire team is friendly and helpful, especially the manager Som O, who was always courteous and made our stay very pleasant.A special highlight for animal lovers: There are friendly dogs and cats that like to be petted and approach guests in a friendly manner. A great place for everyone who wants to enjoy relaxation, nature and animal company!

Had left a review 3 years ago which needs updating, since i have been here so often. This is what i wrote 3 years ago: "Brilliant eco resort run by Shela and Kevin - their hosting is warm and thoughtful. Stunning sunsets, excellent vegetarian food (but easy to order in seafood or Italian food from nearby restaurants), engaging company. Open air gym, infinity pool. Rooms are spacious and well appointed. Sweeping views. Highly, highly recommended".All this time since then has made the place better and better - never has it looked so great as now. Small changes and improvements here and there show the care and devotion with which the owner sets about to showcase a place with a real peaceful vibe. Our stay this time was marred only by an obnoxious couple complaining, well, about everything. They had the temerity to post a one-out-of-five review lamenting that there are mozzies in Thailand's rainy season and that juice squeezed out of oranges isn't naturally cold. Silly stuff which made us and other guests giggle whilst we soak up the magical and serene spirit of the place.Jaiyen is an extraordinary place with breathtaking sunsets, too majestic to easily describe in text. Wonderful Wonderful Wonderful place indeed.

We came to this resort to relax and enjoy nature. We got the front room and came in low season. Every time it would rain at night time we would have so many little caterpillar worms inside the washroom floor. I was so scared walking in the middle of the night to go to the washroom thinking I’m gonna step on these worms. When they came to clean the room, they never clean the floors. They never clean the washrooms. They did such a rush job cleaning the room. The menu does not have a big selection of food. We order fresh juice for breakfast and got got warm juice that was not fresh. We order fruit plate with yogurt, and they choose to put rotten ripe bananas in our order. We asked for Motorbike and they gave us a motorbike which was over 15 years old. The Motorbike was all rusted and was falling apart. They asked for 300 per day.I said no, I will not pay 300 for this Motorbike. I need a more newer bike.We went out on the island and made some friends with the locals. I asked one of the locals if they could come and pick us up from the hotel and take us to the ferry. He looked at me and got scared and said no please arrange transportation with the hotel only.. so basically the hotel is trying their best not to get any other taxi services to be involved with the guests so they could over charge you 500 to take you from the hotel to the ferry. And guess what the driver is the maintenance guy of the Hotel. They put us in a situation where we had no choice but to pay 500 for two people one bag to go to the Ferry. Everything is overpriced and really the rooms are very simple. This is supposed to be a high end more expensive hotel, and when you sit in the restaurant to have your meal you get attacked by so many mosquitoes I don’t understand why they don’t put a mosquito electric zapper for the guest. The location on the view of this hotel is beautiful. Would I go back to this hotel with the choices I have in Thailand? NO Thanks

Very friendly staff, beautiful views and pure nature. The rooms are nice, but from midday onwards when the sun really shines, they are unfortunately so warm that the air conditioning can hardly cope. Unfortunately, the windows on the terrace side cannot be completely closed with curtains, which makes it a bit bright at night when you sleep.

Maybe the best meal we had on the island. Everything was fresh, tasty and a feast for the eyes. We didn't stay as guests but everyone is welcome in the gorgeous lounge/restaurant with a perfect sunset view. Bonus points for the cute kitty lounging along with us.
