I was here in March, at the start of the rainy season, but the place was still cozy and relaxing. There is a pool in front of the mangrove forest, where you can enjoy a view of the mountains.

The hotel is currently under construction, which is honestly not a problem. The service is poor, rooms are only cleaned upon request, breakfast is very poor (classic breakfast), some of the pools are not clean. The facility looks neglected, weeds everywhere, broken loungers. There is rubbish everywhere, you can see that no love is put into the facility. There are also not enough employees on site, we actually saw 4 people, so it is clear that there is rubbish everywhere and there is no service.Summarized:-Breakfast poor (fried egg cold and like cardboard, the sausage inedible and the toast is hard as a rock)- Rooms great- Lost Place character with a lot of potential, unfortunately it is not exploited- Pool area needs improvement- Employee (the one with the red hair) quite unfriendly, not attentive, doesn't say good morning/good dayIf you like a natural vintage look and eco-tourism, this is the place for you; the rest should stay away from this hotel. The holiday feeling here is only mediocre. The impression on the website and reality differ greatly. Our vacation on Kho Yao Yai was still great.

Beautiful, quiet and well located place to relax in Koh Yao Yai. The rooms are very beautiful and spacious. The staff is kind and helpful. We were quickly provided with scooters to travel around the island. When we were leaving, we were accompanied to the pier, which was much appreciated!

The resort is a bit of a double-edged sword and I'm pretty torn on the rating. From the outside it looks pretty run-down and run-down - somewhat reminiscent of a spooky haunted mansion. At the same time, the rustic appearance is also part of the resort's charm. Everything is made from simple, sustainable materials. The rooms are nice and very modern. Very comfortable bed, big TV (whoever needs it), good climate and modern bathroom fittings - one of the best showers I have experienced in Thailand. The pool is relatively clean and has a direct access to the sea - wonderful view! I had a large 2-room suite with a fantastic view of the sea and a large balcony. Unfortunately, the drain from the toilet smelled quite bad, which was made worse by the heat in the separate, uncooled room with the kitchen and bathroom. If you kept all the doors closed, you didn't really notice it in the well-air-conditioned bedroom. The gaps in windows/doors don't seal perfectly, so you have to expect the odd mosquito at night - but everything is tolerable. For breakfast you can choose from 3 different offers, but the “full breakfast” is quite below average. Two cold canned sausages and slices of ham, a cold fried egg and two slices of toast - quite okay, but nothing more. The staff, on the other hand, is extremely friendly. All in all, I liked the stay so much that I extended it for another night, even if the price seemed a bit too high for what was offered and the small compromises. 500 – 800 baht less would be a fair P/L ratio. It depends on what you're looking for: I wouldn't necessarily want to spend my honeymoon or something similar here, but to just unwind for 2-3 days in a relaxed place, it's perfect!

I recommend this hotel with my eyes closed, the place has a lot of charm. As you have read in previous comments, some rooms are being renovated, so don't be fooled. We had a very modern room, very spacious, very clean. The place is quiet, perfect for relaxing, we had a view of the swimming pool opposite the beach. It’s a very natural place, the interior all made of wood. If you like hotels with character and charm you will love it. In addition, the staff is adorable and always there to help you. I advise you to book with them the tours that you want to do, much better than what was offered outside. This is one of our favorite hotels 😍

Places ravaged by the tsunami under reconstruction, need for a great open mind and modesty but a pleasant stay. Recommend all the same.

This resort was originally built in a rustic and contemporary style, but it seems that post Covid it has dilapidated, which seems to give it even more character. Many buildings have not been restored, but the Beach front villa I stayed in is very comfortable and modern inside. Don’t be fooled by outside appearances. This place seems to grow on you the longer you stay.
