The staff and the manager were very kind! The room was clean - just the bath room could be more cleaner but ok :)The manager organized us also a tour to the islands around Yao Yai and we rented a scooter

The time in Resting Place could have been even longer. We felt very comfortable. You will be picked up from the harbor and can also rent a boat directly from the boss. B. for the trip to Phuket (400THB per person). There was delicious breakfast and really good coffee!! The rooms were clean and had good air conditioning. However, the beds were a bit hard. We were able to rent a scooter for 3 days (400THB for 3 days), it was a bit old but it worked. Thanks for the nice time.

Resting Place Koh Yao Yai is a beautifully situated "boutique" style hotel. Guests get a small "cottage" at their disposal, which consists of a large room, a bathroom and a terrace. The cottages are located on a hillside. In December 2023, the hotel consisted of 5 cottages/rooms. The owners were building three new "houses", which are most likely already open (in 2024).Each cottage is accessed via a separate staircase. The private terrace offers a beautiful view of the sea. Breakfast was included in the room reservation.It's about a 20-minute walk to the "local center" with a 7-eleven store and few restaurants. You can rent a motorbike on site. It seems to be the best option to explore the island.The hotel is very close to both piers, i.e. the main one - Chong Lard Pier, and the less frequented one - Klong Hia Pier. I think it is possible to ask the hotel for pick up from Klong Hia Pier (which was our case).At the hotel you can buy a trip to Hong Island (I highly recommend it) and other places - at a good price and good quality.The owners are extremely hospitable and helpful. If I have the opportunity, I will definitely stay there again.The island is inhabited mainly by Muslims (about 99%), so alcohol is not as easily available as in other parts of Thailand (including the tourist areas in southern Thailand). The hotel and the nearest 7-eleven store do not sell alcohol. The nearest liquor store is near the Chong Lard Pier. :-)

A wonderful little hotel set in the hills of Koh Yao yi. The rooms were lovely, with beautiful views out over the trees and water. A spacious balcony with a little table made the view easy to enjoy.The beds were very comfortable, the rooms large, clean and modern.The thing that really made this hotel was the manager Yon and his team. The service was amazing, and the best I had experienced in Thailand. Yon organised taxis, ferry tickets, a private boat for the day and gave great recommendations for our exploration around the island. The breakfast that was prepared was delicious and plentiful.Thanks Yon!!

Unfortunately I had to change my rating, the first impression was actually very good, until a strong stench of manure came out of the bathroom and nothing was done after we let us know. What's also not possible is the rubbish from the construction of the bungalows behind the great fence !!!You could have done that too! What was achieved here with kindness was then ruined with things like this. A pity! Oh yes...charging extra for a cappuccino at breakfast is a no-go!! My tip is to buy a decent coffee machine to serve top coffee! It's worth it 😉! Europeans value that

I wish I could give more than 5 stars. Everything about our experience staying here was absolutely amazing. The views from the room are fantastic, the breakfast is plentiful and delicious but the staff were absolutely out of this world. I have done a lot of travelling and the service we received in this hotel was far beyond anything I have experienced before. They were constantly going above and beyond to make our experience on the island special and I cannot thank them enough for such a special trip. Absolute must stay if visiting the island

We had very nice days at the Resting Place and felt welcome. Scooter rental, breakfast, shuttle service and organization of a boat trip, if there were any requests, they were happy to fulfill them. With the scooter you can quickly reach many restaurants and everything you need.We felt very comfortable in the bungalows and had a beautiful view of the sea and the island of Koh Yao Noi opposite. Thank you very much and gladly again.

Really amazing view here and the service might’ve been one of the best so far. Very helpful and friendly. Thanks to Yon. The room itself is totally OK but nothing too special, it shows some years of usage here and there but nothing really to complain about.

We had a lovely stay on Ko Yao Yai thanks to the very friendly owner Yon, his lovely family and staff.1. Ko Yao Yai is extremely quiet from a tourist/nightlife perspective so is a great place to relax and unwind after phuket/pho phi, can scoot around the island easily (very quiet no traffic) to see the real Thai island life.2. The resting place is lovely, great clean bungalows with nice views, hot water, good AC, and comfortable beds. Very tasty homemade Thai style breakfast was cooked for us every morning, nothing is too much to ask!3. Really great hosts, Yon personally picked us up from the Harbour and checked in on us throughout our stay, probably the most welcoming host we’ve ever had!! Yon can also organise washing/tours/transport and rent you a good scooter for a reasonable price which is a must on this large island!We thank you very much for our lovely stay!

We stayed at the Resting Place for 2 nights and can wholeheartedly recommend it. We were picked up from the pier and dropped off again at no additional cost (great service). The drive from the pier only takes 5 minutes. The beautiful Laem Had Beach, 7 eleven and our favorite restaurant (Laanmaye) with the Viewpoint can also be reached very quickly. You can also easily rent scooters locally at a fair price. We were warmly welcomed and looked after by Yon and his wife Mina. Always supported when it came to excursions or onward travel. We really liked the rooms, great view, super spacious and very clean. The complex is currently being expanded by 3 bungalows, which should be ready in December 23/January 24. Yon and Mina thank you again for letting us get to know you and for taking such heartwarming care of us. See you, Katrin and Philipp

Had a great stay here, gorgeous views and very helpful staff. Visited in the off season so it was very quite. We where offered a lift from and to the pier when we arrived and left, and rental scooters are available from the Resting Place. They only took cash however which wasn’t mentioned on the booking anywhere and there was a sign saying ‘visa payment’s preferred’ in reception, this could be because it was the off season though.
