Today Thung Chang School Came to study and organized the Ten Power Science Camp at Rai Saifai Nan. The children had a lot of fun. Amazing place, possible to come as volunteers or join to permaculture course. The hosts are super nice and helpful. The view is amazing. The food was the best. Fresh, organic, and so tasty. This place is really inspiring.

Beautiful place!! I came to volunteer completely randomly and I loved it. The design of the entire property is based on a permaculture philosophy. Its owner, Sandoth, is a super friendly man with a lot of knowledge to share. Between him and cook Patel's food they left me delighted!! 🤙🤙🤙

My experience at Sahainan Farm was beautiful. I spent 10 days there as a volunteer and was also able to take part in the permaculture course for a few days. Shen, Sandot and their children are such a welcoming family who make you feel cared for from the moment you arrive. I learned so much from her inspiring life path, which is characterized by independence and creativity. During a visit to Sahainan, Shen and Sandot will introduce you up close and personal to the principle of permaculture in everyday practice. The way they convey the information to you feels natural and authentic.It is worth visiting the farm while traveling in the north of Thailand and spending several days there as a student or volunteer.

Our time at Sahainan was incredible! We took the January PDC in 2024 and learned so many skills. In addition to classroom time spent reviewing permaculture theory, we learned how to roast coffee, make soap and shampoo from the farm, made and ate so much delicious food, and so much more. Our group was great, with people from different regions who we’ve become great friends with while here. We spent most nights singing while Sandot played his guitar. Both Shen and Sandot are so knowledgeable and the way they see the world is a breath of fresh air. Coming away from the experience, we feel excited to implement the sustainable practices we learned more into our day-to-day lives.Those who come here to volunteer should know that it’s not luxury, and there are realities about living simply and close to nature that some city people might feel prepared for. We personally appreciated the realness of this place.I highly recommend coming here if you are serious about learning how to live a simple, beautiful, and truly sustainable way of life!

Went as a volunteer, ended up doing the pdc course and staying longer as i felt there are a lot of good stuff to experience and absorb in this place. Do note however it's not a luxury place and I think it's more suitable for those who are willing a home closer to nature, without ac or fans and with mosquito at certain times.The food is super good and nutrious, always a nice variety to choose from and some healthy and delicious brown rice from their farm.The way the family treat everybody is so warm and inspiring that I think only for that its worth to visit.

Before you make up your mind, you might have come across many positive reviews about this place. However, you might only encounter certain discomforts after staying here for an extended period. During my 10-day PDC course, I was truly impressed by what Shen and Sandot taught. However, I noticed that not all of the teachings were consistently applied on their own farm and in their services.If you allow, I'd like to walk you through my experience during my 1-month stay at Sahainan from 28Feb 2023-1st April 2023.Before applying for the 80-day wood working program, I exchanged emails with Sahainan to inquire about obtaining a longer stay Visa and to gather information about what to prepare, considering it would be my first time staying abroad for such a duration. A month before my visit, I paid 24,000 baht in advance and eagerly anticipated my first wood working class at the farm.Getting to Nan was no easy task. Upon my arrival at Sahainan, I encountered a few hiccups. The car plate number provided by the owner didn't match the one mentioned in our email correspondence. On my way from Bangkok to Nan, I made sure to acquire a SIM card for easy communication. I called the driver after waiting for 15-20 minutes. He answered and informed me that he was driving a different car that day, not the one mentioned by Sahainan.It took an hour to reach Thung Chang, the location of Sahainan. This place is rarely visited, even by locals. I was welcomed by Sahainan's family with some food. Shen, the co-owner and wife of Sandot, guided me to my lodging.

We would describe our Sahainan stay as life changing... as land owners, we knew we wanted a food forest and live sustainably... explore solar and hopefully be off the grid, if possible. We took our PDC course in hope of knowing what to do and how to do it. We gained so much more knowledge and the principles are taught using real examples and not textbooks. Many could preach and give talks about permaculture, Sahainan takes it to a whole new level! You seriously cannot get more out of permaculture than Sahainan!We are now back to our land with clarity of what to do next and why... we hope anyone looking for a great community, help on what to do, sustainable way of living or just another alternative way to life will give Sahainan your time, you will gain so much more than just permaculture!
